TERRI SCHIAVO DAILY MARCH 2005 PART 6- NO FOOD OR WATER IN THE 6TH-7TH DAYS - GOOD FRIDAY
various | 3-24-05

Posted on 03/25/2005 12:17:45 AM PST by STARWISE

Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.

Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.

Forbid it Lord
That I should boast
Save in the death
Of Christ my Lord
All the vain things
That charm me most
I sacrifice them
To his blood.

See from His head
His hands
His feet
Sorrow and love
Flow mingled down
Did ere such love
And sorrow meet
Or thorns compose
So rich a crown.

Were the whole realm
Of nature mine
That were a present
Far too small
Love so amazing
So devine
Demands my soul
My life
My all.

This is NOT my America. I cannot express my pain and frustration.

Agreed, isn't there a book called "Whatever Happened to the United States?" As far as the judges and partisanship, I think more Republicans may have voted to kill Terri in all the courts where her case went than Democrats, but it's probably close to a tie. In the Atlanta court this week, it was six Republicans and four Democrats who joined to kill her.

"I think we need to vent until it's all out right now, then I feel moved to some prayer and fellowship...."

Sometimes I vent and pray here at the same time.

That was excellent for you to point
out that we are already in a Constitutional
Crisis.

There may not be "homeroom moms", but there are "homeroom grandmothers", because I am one, and so is the other grandmother to my granddaughter---we both go to school functions, PTA, and field trips---

Her mother and father work and so we grandmothers are taking advantage of the time we get with Kailey---pure joy, and now I have a new 2 month old granddaughter, Chase, and I will invest the same time in her childhood...

I must tell you, that when I go to school to pick up Kailey, there are a lot of grandparents doing the same..it may not be a "stay at home mom" situation, but we "namas" do the best that we can...

Betty Friedan - how could I forget her!? Is she still alive?

I recall thinking back then that businesses would notice the trend and cash in on it.

Amen, my King, we Surround our Sister with our Love and our Prayers, as our Tears of Anguish Fall. We Love her so, Dear Master, and Plead that You would Minister to her Every Moment, through Your Grace. Let her Feel our Love, Papa-Father, our Prayers and our Tears Somehow Covering her with Comfort. We Feel so Helpless, Great King, but Stand in Your Divine and Gracious Strength. Hold our Sister Close, O God, as we Join our Hearts around Your Throne of Mercy, amen.

Lifted from today's (Sunday) Canteen.....Tonk, I didn't think you'd mind. We're praying in here...

GOD WILL NOT LET YOU FALL

My family and I went camping this past summer. We took several hikes down the little river bed as it flowed through the Cuyamaca State Park near our home in San Diego. We topped for a picnic lunch, and ate with our feet in the cool running water.

As I ate my sandwich, I started tracing a trail through the rocks that shot up into the air in front of us. It was an old habit from days gone by of rock scrambling: no ropes, no hardware, no helmet, no brains! As teenagers, and even into college, my buddies and I would climb the rocks of Big Bend in Texas. I'm sure I'll get in trouble with the folks from safety but I confess: I got up and started to climb; partly to prove something to myself and mostly to show off for my bride of nine years.

Our daughter of fifteen watched me for a bit and started to follow. She caught up with me and we went over the basics. I showed her the path she was to take which involved little skill and kept mom happy. I took the more difficult route and we met at the top. Unless you rappel, getting down is usually more difficult, so I stayed close to Tiffany in order to offer help should she need it. The tendency is to cling to the rock but often it's best to lean out away from it for better balance and stability. As she was coming down, I was below verbally guiding her. She couldn't see the next ledge below her, and was trying her best to stretch in order to touch it while hanging on to the hand hold above. I could see exactly what she needed to do and knew she was capable of doing it. I told her she just had to trust me. With confidence in Dad, she lowered herself the last few inches and fully planted her feet on secure rock. You could see the pride shining in her eyes (and probably, mine too)!

Just think of how many times our heavenly "Dad" is below us; seeing the next step p[erfectly, even when we are blind to the future. There are times when we simply have to trust God to not let us fall. The more we learn to depend on God the easier it gets to place our lives into those loving hands with confidence. The next time you find your footing somewhat unsure, and the fear of falling looms up from below, remember that God is there for you, anxious to show you the way and guide you one step at a time.

Oh, and don't forget the women's groups---why aren't they out there protesting a possible abuse case?

To them Terri is nothing but a hunk of flesh, not a human soul. Why would they get involved when they have been promoting getting rid of hunk of fleshes we carry in our bodies, abortion? To them, there is no difference whether the hunk of flesh is outside the body or inside the body. Just get rid of the unwanted "thing".

I don't think it is the Christian thing in John Lewis' case, I think most of the black people are church going people---nope, it is partly because she is white, but mostly because the Republicans came out in favor of helping her...

It is mostly a democrat thing!

Both stances are extreme, Jeb is neither Pontius Pilate, but only lacked the rare courage to go further, that's the only thing he is guilty of AFAIK, Nor is America going to spin off it's axis and come to a grinding halt had Jeb stepped in and relieved Terri from an immoral ruling by a probate judge.

I only wish both stances were exaggerations! America *will* spin off its axis in time - in the cumulative effect of one case at a time. And one innocent American girl has been abandoned, and will be dead, with many more individuals to follow.

This is America's defining moment. Greer, Felos and Michael are evil, but the Bushes could have saved Terri, and the three CO-EQUAL branches of government.

You don't know HOW MUCH I wish these were exaggerations!
