Judge George Greer ruled that the State of Florida has no right to take custody of Terri Schiavo, which ruling came hours after an appeal by Terri's parents to re-insert the feeding tube was refused by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Meanwhile, another hearing was scheduled tonight before US District Judge James D. Whittemore .. the same judge who previously heard and denied the request subsequent to the 'de novo' intention of the law past last weekend by the Congress and signed by President Bush, in an effort to confirm that no stone was left unturned before Terri would endure legally sanctioned dehydration until death.
... that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Amen.
Goodnight y'all. Faith and sterngth. It's Easter.
You think I am going to go into detail on a thread?
Your energy level is incredible, FV ... some special kind of cereal?
Good night all. Bless you. I hope you get some much needed rest.
AND THIS FROM ANOTHER FREEPER:
Consumer Advocate Ralph Nader, Author Wesley Smith call Upon Florida Courts, Gov. Bush and Concerned Citizens to Take any Legal Action Available to let Schiavo Live

WASHINGTON, March 24 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Consumer Advocate Ralph Nader and Wesley J. Smith, author of the award winning book "Culture of Death: The Assault on Medical Ethics in America" call upon the Florida Courts, Governor Jeb Bush and concerned citizens to take any legal action available to let Terri Schiavo live.
"A profound injustice is being inflicted on Terri Schiavo," Nader and Smith asserted today. "Worse, this slow death by dehydration is being imposed upon her under the color of law, in proceedings in which every benefit of the doubt-and there are many doubts in this case-has been given to her death, rather than her continued life."
Among the many injustices in this case, Nader and Smith point to the following:
The courts not only are refusing her tube feeding, but have ordered that no attempts be made to provide her water or food by mouth. Terri swallows her own saliva. Spoon feeding is not medical treatment. "This outrageous order proves that the courts are not merely permitting medical treatment to be withheld, it has ordered her to be made dead," Nader and Smith assert.
The medical and rehabilitation experts are split on whether Terri is in a persistent vegetative state or whether Terri can be improved with therapy. There is only one way to know for sure- permit the therapy. That is the only way to resolve all doubts.
The court is imposing process over justice. After the first trial in this case, much evidence has been produced that should allow for a new trial-which was the point of the hasty federal legislation. If this were a death penalty case, this evidence would demand reconsideration. Yet, an innocent disabled woman is receiving less justice.
The federal and state governments are spending billions on what we are told will become miracle medical cures for people with all sorts of degenerative conditions, including brain damage. If this is so, why not permit Terri's parents and siblings who want to care for her do so in the hope that such cures are discovered?
Benefits of doubts should be given to life, not hastened death. This case is rife with doubt. Justice demands that Terri be permitted to live.
ALSO ON TERRI'S SIDE: JESSE JACKSON, DAVID BOIES, LANNY DAVIS. I bet they are enjoying watching Jeb and Dubya's poll numbers watch while Terri is slipping away.
Many freepers have been here since last week, some for a few days, and some may show up for the weekend. I missed FR_addict today but I'll try again tomorrow.
Could you (or ANY of you) point to the source of that?
If true, it would INVALIDATE the original 'finding of fact'
that every other judge has taken as gospel.
Are all of you aware that a common way to discredit a group is to feed it easily discredited false information? If we have 99% of our info right, and 1% wrong, the OPPOSITION will visciously attack the 1% wrong and NO ONE will listen to the 99%
Here is what the clearwater bar said before one of Greer's elections:
I might suggest everyone STOP saying this without a legitimate cite.
Thanks! I was just thinking what do I want as a snack right now and remembered that I have a box of Cocoa Pebbles sitting on top of the fridge! :)
I was down there yesterday for a staggering 5 minutes. I wanted to say something (though I don't know what) to the Schindlers. Only found Bobby and Suzanne and I'm actually grateful for that. I don't know what I could possibly say to parents who are watching their first born being starved to death. It's all really too much.
JUDGE LENDERMAN'S SISTER IS ON THE BOARD OF HOSPICE OF THE SUNCOAST PINELLAS. Her name is Martha Lenderman. Judge Lenderman stepped in so that a band wouldn't have a SUICIDE ON STAGE, that was too ugly for St. Petersburg, FL but up the road apiece in Pinellas Park, IT ISN'T UGLY TO STARVE AN INNOCENT WOMAN TO DEATH.
That story was re: the band HELL ON EARTH, the mayor of St. Pete Rick Baker expressed outrage at having a suicide on stage. NO OUTRAGE FROM THE PINELLAS PARK CITY MANAGER. Pinellas Park is PART OF THE MACHINE THAT IS FOR THE DEATH OF TERRI. It's sickening.
Every time they cross the street to see even if they can get in, let alone when they walk back after seeing Terri, I get knots in my stomach. I keep my head down, IS THIS MY COUNTRY?
Police separate them from Terri and if HINO doesn't want them in, they have to walk back across the street.
TERRI'S TONGUE, EYES AND SKIN ARE NOW SHOWING SIGNS OF DEHYDRATION PER FOX NEWS RIGHT THIS SECOND. Goodnight, phenn.
You should kept read down the posts, you would have noticed most of us asked for sources before going forward.
I was told by someone that they called the Hospice and she is no longer on the BOD - but I've recently been told Michael's lawyer is on the BOD - but I don't have a source for that either.
Our Lord-King Hear our Cries from His Holy Tabernacle in Heaven!
May he yet return her from the brink of death, dear Kitty ... may He yet bind up the broken heart of this grieving mother ...
but I've recently been told Michael's lawyer is on the BOD
IIRC, about year 2000, Felos had to resign the BOD due to appearances and conflict of interest
I'll take your word for it, sounds believable
I have personal knowledge about Terri Schiavo's actual neurological condition and responsiveness which we could not use before because of Pat's role as attorney for the Schindler family. That is now changed, and I cannot sit quietly by and passively observe a miscarriage of justice.
PLEASE PUT THIS ON EVERY TERRI THREAD YOU CAN FIND. Thanks, my friends, FV (over and out). During the period of September to November of 2002 (from just before to shortly after the medical evidentiary hearing featuring five doctors as witnesses), I spent time with Terri Schiavo, as a person (briefly) on her visitors list.
During that time I gently spoke to her, built rapport and trust, sang to her, played music for her, and encouraged her to vocalize. Over the twenty days or so that I visited with Terri, I observed that, while Terri is distrustful of strangers, she gradually warmed up to me (and not so gradually after Bob, Mary and I sang "Those Were the Days" to her as a trio!). Terri responds to a variety of stimulii, including responding to both her mother's and my voices, both in person and over the phone, by fixing her attention and frequently by laughing. When I sang to her, she often VOCALIZED, in her best effort to sing along with me. She recognizes and takes great pleasure in certain singers and songs which ARE her favorites (most especially John Denver singing "Country Roads"). She learned to love several songs I sang to her with which she didn't seem to be familiar with, but others she never learned to appreciate (just not her cup of tea, obviously).
She responded to gentle requests if given time and patience, such as lifting her right leg (three times out of four requests, the other time she lifted her left leg instead). While she does not have consistent control over her eyes to blink or look this way or that, she has excellent control over her breathing, diaphram and voice, and will vocalize in various patterns if asked. While trying to work out a yes/no system with sounds, Terri initially answered the question "Terri, are you ten feet tall" by moaning twice, which is the response for "No," then she spontaneously whispered the word "No" in response to the question "Terry, are you purple?". At that point I abandoned the sounding system and started trying to teach her to say "Yeah" as best as she could. Bob Schindler has several recordings of her sort of saying the word "Yeah" shortly after that.
Unfortunately, I was then taken off Terri's visitors list, but on successive occasions (as recently as last October, approximately two years since I last saw her in person), when her father placed a phone to Terri's ear so I could talk to her, she laughed as soon as she heard my voice, andtried to sing along with me when I sang to her over the phone.
Terri is not just "in there," she is very responsive, she loves music, and she is my friend. Please don't kill her.
