In so doing it triggers legal or statutory protections for the witness, among those protections is that nothing can be done to cause harm or death to this individual.

No, I think the problem is that some of "us" are intent on killing a woman just because she can't speak for herself. Terri breathes on her own, she responds to her mother's voice, and she can laugh and cry. That doesn't sound like PVS to me.
In all probability Schiavo is an old fashioned self centered SOB, but this case has become a cause celebre for the Pro death forces as represented by Felos and the slick evil pro death cult movement he is a a part of. Schiavo may have become a victim himself, certainly in his own mind.
She is not in PVS. Why don't you look at what the REAL doctors had to say instead of the ones who were paid off by her "husband"?

I'm not playing peace maker here. I am firmly on one side of this issue. However, I saw the caution a couple of threads back too, about being wary of disagreeing with Hildy. I thought it was ridiculous. If you can't stand up to the responses concerning posting you've made, get off the thread. There are legitimate reasons for hitting abuse. I haven't read one yet, because pretty much everyone is giving tit for tat. I've learned alot on this thread, made posts others may disagree with, if I can't take it, I'll go read the cartoons.
Both of you have been holding your own. No reasons to believe that anyone is going to try get someone kicked out of the sandbox because they don't like what you are saying.

A DOCUMENTARY. FULL BACKGROUND. No actors but everyone involved, including Michael Schivao, the Schindlers.
This DOCUMENTARY was 2 hours long. Doctors giving their diagnosis/results, etc.
But MS didn't do the honorable thing because one time when they were watching tv she mentioned she wouldn't want to live...or did she say she didn't want to watch the show....one or the other...probably that she would want to die. (Sarcasm)

Notice it's only HIM and HIS family that seem to know Terri's wishes. Funny, I would've told my parents and my friends whether or not I wanted to die in that situation, not my brother-in-law. (As a matter of fact, I have told my friends.) And it's only after he got his money that he wanted to act on "her wishes."
