You are so right. I would have defended him before he said this. I have listened to him since he started here in NY, before he became this big time radio show. I felt he was very honorable. A bit of an ego, since his success took off, but none the less. It seems many of the successful ones have a bit of an inflated ego. No big deal. His comments surprised me and he just took it to far.

Support, Prayers and Thanks to our Troops!

Yeah, I think the Hannidate is a little stretch for Sean's normal format.

I think there are times that I don't agree with his viewpoint and I wasn't real happy with his conversation with Rangle yesterday, but I see no reason to turn on him cause he expressed an option. Also, sometimes I think he dwells on a subject matter too much. But, I look to him to give me the latest.

I've noticed this similar behavior towards O'Reilly.

Thank God for FR. I don't go on AOL anymore. Nowhere but here are people actually able to get my political jokes.

Sean is saying that if someone disagrees, then the name calling starts which is true a lot.

I disagree, you creep.

I would venture to guess that the majority of FReepers are listeners. Sean has started to believe his own press. One of the things that attracted me to his show was his humility.

Not only will this hurt Free Republic, Sean, but also, the local shows that follow him.

Yep. As series as the Boston baseball fans about the 2005 World Serious.

anyone who thinks that there are not PROMINENT wingnuts over here has never read FR. There are some real cretins within the conservative movement, and a place like FR that allows anyone to post attracts them like flies to dog poop.

LOL...soooooo true and although I have not actally heard what Hannity said I would guess this is the group that he referred to.

quick to eat our own..

Sooo what...it's a cleansing process... unlike anything available to the left.

Some freepers are so thin skinned that they go nuclear at the slightest provocation. No dissent is tolerated. I remember the way Peggy Noonan was SAVAGED..

I remember when Rush was upset with the FReepers a year or so ago and spoke unfavorably. He spoke his mind. That's the way it should be. I don't even remember what it was about but I remember I was unhappy about it at the time.

On of the best things about Free Republic is that on one thread you can agree, then the next one you don't, then you can congratulate the person on the thread that you do not agree with on the soon to be arrive of a new baby, and all is forgiven.

There is nothing wrong with diversity of opinions.

It's not the regular broadcast they charge for, they offer some kind of "special" access to supposedly more and better material etc. Laura's is Laura 365; Hannity Insiders; Rush 24/7......

I don't think it will hurt FR at all, not at all. But I feel that he will be thinking of what an *ss he made of himself yesterday.

***

Do you think he will mention this on today's show? If he were a man, he would.

You sure we are talking about the same guy?

For example, yesterday he was talking about not getting all over Charlie Rangel for calling people from Arkansas rednecks. If we jump all over this, we are as bad as when they jumped all over Trent Lott for his remarks with Strom. We should not empower the political correctness stance. We should take the high ground on this one in the quest to stay consistent. I think he's right on this point. How about you?

Maybe Sean is hoping that tons of people will tune in to see if what we heard yesterday is really what we heard. Do not expect an apology.

Exactly.
The ONLY thing wrong IMHO is when it gets personal and ugly. You have some FReepers, the fringe element ;-), that can't get a thought out of their heads without name calling, etc..

That's ok though because the mods keep them in check (somewhat) and they're just the fringe element anyway.

NOW A KOOK SITE TO MILLIONS OF PEOPLE

Remember this?

***

"It was amazing Thursday to watch the documents story go from FreeRepublic.com, a bastion of right-wing lunacy, to Drudge to the mainstream media in less than 12 hours," said Jim Jordan, a strategist for independent Democratic groups opposed to Bush.

That "kook" and "lunacy" and "fringe" stuff is really being flung around these days, isn't it?

LOL.

Me thinks Mr. Sinky was just a bit disingenuous in feigning ignorance as to the meaning of the acronym "FROBL"

yeah...so was I in explaining it :)

Not quite true.

I've been speaking in defense of Hannity, while I slammed Noonan. Though I never descended to personal insults I did and still do believe jealousy was a motivator for those columns.

The difference between the two being that her piece concerned more important issues than a slight against our vanity.

I find this thread very sad. I find it sad hannity would promote his site by slamming this one. I find it sad that Freepers that made hannity the number one target for MONTHS are so thin skinned they couldn't let this roll off their backs. I find it sad that with all the important issues to concentrate THIS is what inspired hannity and Freeper's passions.

Hannity was joking about giving out his handle on the air, but he doesn't keep it a secret on the site. It's holdonnow.

Hannity or Levin?
