Whatever our differences - thank God for no fatalities.

Even if this is terror-related, the FBI will cover it up. (aka, the plane crash in Long Island a few years back)

That's right, there is no such thing as an accident, everything bad that happens is "terror related," and it's all "covered up."

His post 165 sounded conspiracy theory-ish.
And in 177 he said this: "Even if this is terror-related, the FBI will cover it up. (aka, the plane crash in Long Island a few years back)"

And right after that he got real quiet.

They're probably sending the folks with less serious injuries to Holy Name, and the most seriously injured to Hackensack (affectionately known as "Crackensack" to folks in law enforcement) Medical Center.

A few freepers tried to explain to me how the lazer blinding works.

I am still having trouble understanding it.

But the multiple reports that have been coming in on lazer incidents here in NJ are leaving me open to speculate about this incident.

Earlier in this thread someone posted there familiarity with the runways at Teterboro too.

That poster said the runway this plane was trying to take off from was too short. I would like to hear more about that.

"I'm just responding to your comment that it isn't rocket science. In the case of the Challenger, icing and freezing of the O-rings in the solid rocket boosters was the cause of the explosion, and that, monday, is rocket science."

I wondered if you meant the Challenger space shuttle? Since this thread is about a Challenger aircraft crash, I foolishly thought you were referring to that. Silly me.

In the case of the Challenger space shuttle, it was a design flaw that caused the accident, not untrained deicers.

My statement still holds. Deicing is NOT rocket science.

Designing safe o rings for rocket boosters IS rocket science and if we had been discussing that, you would have been correct.

I was looking for time of day on the laser incidents (mostly at night) but found this story..... (has anyone seen this?)

January 07, 2005
Aircraft Laser Incidents Pinned on Gay Club-Goers
FBI agents have traced recent laser incidents, in which lasers have been aimed at airplanes and helicopters, to an unusual source: gay nightclubs. The green beams, say laser wielders, aren’t for terrorism but for shining a light on club ‘hotties.’

For one gay couple, night out ends in handcuffs

By Todd Fox

CLEVELAND, OH—Paco Garcia and his boyfriend Thom Feldman often joke that after a night of sweat and dancing at The Grid, Cleveland's premier gay hot spot, they are open to encounters with strange men. But this weekend, when the two men found themselves surrounded by strangers, their new friends weren’t gay men looking for a good time. They were FBI agents.

Theres more>>>>>>>>

• The Hide and Seek Complex, Colorado Springs, CO. On Dec. 27, two pilots reported that green pulsating laser lights were shone into their cockpits as they were approaching the Colorado Springs airport. Both the passenger plane and a cargo plane landed without incident.
• Bricks Club, Salt Lake City, UT. In September, a Delta Air Lines pilot reported an eye injury from a laser beam shone into the cockpit during a landing approach in Salt Lake City.
• The Tool Box, Nashville, TN. Earlier this week, a green laser was pointed at a Chicago-bound regional jet as it took off from Nashville International Airport.

I've personally made comments and have had thoughts before that would qualify as conspiracy theory-ish. I wouldn't jump on someone for that.

Now posting to front page news....a vanity about a conspiracy theory...

Well that is kitty time :)

One on takeoff.
Interesting.

And did I read that right that the green laser lights were traced to clubs?

Teterboro Airport in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

The airport is right next to State Route 46 and state route 17.
