My point to the gentleman was him making the point that as a former journalist it was his job to speculate, well, speculation in aviation accidents need not always point to terror, accidents can and will happen. Do you even know that icing caused this crash? When icing does cause crashes it isn't because the deicing crews didn't know what they were doing, it is because the wings re iced while waiting for takeoff.

I'm just responding to your comment that it isn't rocket science. In the case of the Challenger, icing and freezing of the O-rings in the solid rocket boosters was the cause of the explosion, and that, monday, is rocket science.

Actually you can buy a jet for under a million now. The reason there aren't more of them is that flying by jet is still really expensive in terms of fuel, flight crew, maintenance, insurance, etc. The cost to operate a jet can be upwards of $1500 an hour. Its still too expensive for average people, even average millionaires.
