DENVER, Colorado (AP) -- Villagers digging in China's rich fossil beds have uncovered the preserved remains of a tiny dinosaur in the belly of a mammal, a startling discovery for scientists who have long believed early mammals couldn't possibly attack and eat a dinosaur.
Scientists say the animal's last meal probably is the first proof that mammals hunted small dinosaurs some 130 million years ago. It contradicts conventional evolutionary theory that early mammals were timid, chipmunk-sized creatures that scurried in the looming shadow of the giant reptiles.

times like these make me laugh at those who mock creationism.
Stand by for an Evolution cover-up!
It probably was the mammal's last meal, if momma dino caught the little trickster pilfering the egg nest.
It is a great article, I hope you got to the link ok. CNN wont let the whole article be posted. I agree with both of your BTW.
Then, wouldn't you have expected to find the mammal in the belly of the mother?
I see another evolution in the theory of evolution on the horizon.
1) Begin with our conclusion: Evolution and its required timeline are known to be true.
2) Absorb new information revealed through seemingly anomalous discoveries.
3) Create wild conjectures, which might explain why the anomalies are perfectly ordinary, provided that 6 or 7 other things are also true, although no such evidence has yet been found.
4) Re-assert the conclusion that Evolution and its required timeline are known to be true.
5) Laugh at the ignorant doubters of Evolution and call them names.
those dang mammals will eat anything. No wonder we have an obesity problem. Bwahahahahaha!
"It contradicts conventional evolutionary theory that early mammals were timid, chipmunk-sized creatures that scurried in the looming shadow of the giant reptiles."
Actually, your average dinosaur was not that big. The more well-known ones were very large, but I believe the average was around the size of a pony. It's also known that dinosaur eggs weren't that big either, so 5-inch hatchling isn't exactly shocking.
The only real discovery here seems to be that they found a new species of mammal that was larger than any other living at the time (although still relatively small, only about 3 feet long). This is hardly evidence against evolution.
The best case of this is the punctuated equilibrium. Hmmm, lets see we have no evidence that clearly proves, without a doubt, that evolution is true so lets make up a theory to show why there is no evidence for evolution to be found that proves evolution exists but we just can't see it in the evidence. Brilliant...
This is evidence that a mammal would eat dinosaur meat. Not evidence of an "attack". The mammal could just as easily been scavenging.
Evolution is a theory. Taught in the government schools as fact.
The only truth is that we don't know. I'm okay with that.
"Then, wouldn't you have expected to find the mammal in the belly of the mother?"
Duh, did story relate the dino egg had a meat eating momma? Could have been an early day herbivore veggie bovine predecessor.
I agree 100%. It's really as simple as that.
This is the problem with most of these stories: they're written by journalists, not scientists, and they don't always know enough to be scientifically accurate.
An interesting note also is that as you stated, so evolution states, "all we need is more time." I thought that was kinda of ironic.
Evolution is a theory. It says so in the story.
Maybe if you shout louder and insult more, we will all be convinced of your silly position. But again, maybe not.
I never advocated a "flat earth", and you are using a "straw man" argument. I am not a "religious fanatic", here you use the "ad hominem" attack.
This is no serious argument you make, just name calling. Why is it so hard to admit that you don't know something?
Any idea what kind of bar-b-que sauce was used?
