Civil liberties and homosexual rights advocates have renewed their push for community programs to bolster support in schools for homosexual youths, just weeks after voters repudiated same-sex unions in 11 state referendums.
But in northeastern Kentucky, parents and students have defied the Ashland-Boyd County school district's "mandatory anti-harassment workshops," part of an agreement with the American Civil Liberties Union to allow the Gay-Straight Alliances student group to meet in school buildings.Hundreds of students opted out of the tolerance training video, and another 324 students did not show up for school the day it was shown. The ACLU has threatened to file for a court order to enforce attendance.
Joseph Platt, a Cincinnati lawyer representing parents, said "mandatory training on tolerance for homosexuals violates the right of conscience of parents and students who believe such behavior immoral."
In Charlotte-Mecklenburg County, N.C., a lengthy cover feature in Charlotte Parent, a widely circulated shopper magazine, has brought indignant protests from churches and private schools associated with the Greater Charlotte Association of Christian Schools.
Titled "Parenting a Gay Child," the feature offered a sympathetic account of youngsters with "same-sex attraction" and advocated community "support services and education" on behalf of homosexual children. The article supported the view of homosexual interest groups that same-sex unions are comparable to heterosexual marriage.

How can a an agreement signed by the school board bind the conscience of the mothers and fathers. The school board showed the GLSEN video.
This is in no way about tollerance, this is about conditioning acceptance of homosexual conduct in children.
Where is the counter view point? Where is the non-religious opposition to the homosexual lifestyle? Where is the video showing homosexuality is a fetish, lifestyle choice?
Today it is a mandatory acceptance conditioning video, tommorrow it is chairman mae re-education camps.
David Hains, spokesman for the Catholic diocese of Charlotte, said that the diocese doesnt find the article objectionable. Catholic teaching teaches all Catholics to be loving towards all people, including homosexuals. Hains said that the diocese which does view the homosexual act as sinful doesnt view the Charlotte Parent article as an endorsement of sin. He also said the diocese doesnt try to influence the editorial content of the magazines we advertise in.
I'm very disappointed that he doesn't mention that the Christian faith teaches that ALL sexual activity outside of marriage is sinful, and therefore "supporting" homosexual (or heterosexual) activity among young people is a grave sin. The "Charlotte Parent" article didn't even mention that teen sex is unhealthy ... I wouldn't have expected any moral condemnation - the only things they think are "wrong" are gun ownership and "intolerance."
I'm writing the Bishop. Maybe, being a fairly recent appointee, he just hasn't gotten around to firing this yutz "spokesman."
It's in the database, bump.

Homosexual Agenda Ping. More on the NC homosexual training video being forced on the children in one whole school district. More info on comment #4 - check it out.
Let me and ItsOurTimeNow know if anyone wants on/off this pinglist.
Thanks for posting this mindboggling response!
Mind boggling is so very true, I think it's downright frightening!
The PTA in particular is what is the most fearful, however. There are so many PS families that are probably not aware of these facts. I highly recommend passing this info along to anyone you know with public school children.
I, myself, was heavily involved with the PTA, completely unaware of this agenda until 2 years ago. Now, for numerous reasons, I prefer homeschooling.
Please add me to your ping list, if possible.
It's not only possible, it's easy!
Consider it done.
And thank you very much for the information you posted. I had heard of most of it, but not all, and there are new people lurking here every day.
Nonstop truth is the best weapon against the "gay" agenda. Informed people will not be fooled people.
Bears repeating:
For more than 30 years, homosexual activists have been demanding that our Judeo-Christian culture capitulate and embrace their view of human sexuality, marriage and family. If Americans ever accept these demands, they can expect to live in a culture that will be turned upside down -- literally unhinged from the sane moorings instituted by the God of heaven.
Harvey's prediction is of a grotesque culture that includes: "Lesbian bride dolls. Fourth grade 'gay' clubs. A king and king at the high school prom. Dating tips for same-sex teens. Bathroom ogling -- and sometimes quick encounters -- in the middle school boys' restroom."
Fortunately, while the groundwork for these changes has been laid, it is not yet a done deal. But Americans who believe there is something inherently abnormal, unnatural and immoral about homosexuality had better stand up right now.
If the public schools are lost to homosexual activists, our children and grandchildren will be thrown into a queer new world. And there's nothing gay about that.
That is exactly what they plan on doing, forcing it down our throats and our children's throats. They will keep forcing it even if we are kicking and screaming. That won't deter them.
From an article by a gay guy earlier this morning:
"It is never easy. Americans must often be dragged, kicking and screaming, into the future."
Thank you LJ, I appreciate being included in this particular topic of discussion.
It can get pretty busy sometimes!
View? It is not a view; It's a religion--a belief system.
If one religion does not belong in the schools, then no religion belongs in the schools.
Good point. Have others write your bishop as well--this "statement" will be taken by thousands of parents as an endorsement of sin.
If the topic were theft, would the Catholic Church take the same position?
BTW, where was the statement?
BTW, our PCA school/church was righteously outraged, Thanks be to God.
