A statewide recount of the presidential vote appears inevitable after a pair of third-party candidates said they have collected enough money to pay for it.
The recount would be conducted after the election results are certified in early December.
Libertarian Michael Badnarik and the Green Party's David Cobb said on Monday they raised more than $150,000 in four days, mostly in small contributions.
Ohio law requires payment of $10 per precinct for a recount, or $113,600 statewide.
Badnarik and Cobb said they aren't trying to overturn President Bush's 136,000-vote victory in Ohio, but just want to ensure that all votes were counted properly in the face of concerns about Election Day irregularities.

2 slates of electors? But it wont matter since the results will be certified by then..
bumperooni!
I know. I've lurked there in the last couple of days and it's a hoot! They eat their own over there! They're furious with Kerry for conceding while people were still voting...They claim there were some who were voting at 3 a.m. on the 3rd! So if that kind of effort was made then how is it disenfranchisement? I ask bewilderingly...(is that a word?)
Huh? If the election will already have been certified, why recount?
This is what kills me about the left's focus on OH. The outcome in OH will not be overturned but consider WI. Kerry took WI by about 11,000 votes. The fact is even if Kerry had won OH and Bush had won WI, Bush would have still won! Anyone out there not believe that there was a lot of fraud in Madison and Milwaukee? Do a recount in WI, give the state to Bush and the hell with OH.

Libertarian = Green Party.
Anything to destroy both is good.
Exactly. The greenies, as another poster mentioned, just want to raise their profile and hope to peel away disgruntled dems. As for the libertarians, I assume they too, want to raise their profile, but for whatever reason they want to damamge W. As opposed to the Greens, hard to see how their doing this would peel off disgruntled Republicans into their camp--more like republicans will just be angry at THEM, period.
Anyhow, let the libs have their fun and false hope for awhile. It won't last for long, so they may as well enjoy it while they can.
....from small contributions my rosy red.....They were given enough money by the DNC to have conducted a recount, but like the "girlie men" that they are, they used the "3rd Party" to ask for the recount while they shelled out the dough, and it IS for the purpose of trying to overturn the presidential election. They don't want to admit they are liberals, they don't want to admit that they are anti-Christian bigots, and they don't want to admit they are behind the recount, but they want all ballots to count........even if they were submitted 2 weeks after the elections were over, and they ALL happen to be for democrat candidates. How coincidental. I think the GOP should ask for a recount of New York State, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and Illinois, and not just for President, but for all ballots that voted democratic for ANY office position.
About as effective as voting Libertarian.
IMHO........The Libertarian Party is a front for the Dems, to get these recounts.
there is nothing on this link right now. Sever problems? misspelling?
Good this will only serve to shore up evidence that the libs are nutjobs. If they complain and decry conspiracy theories anymore after the recount it will just reveal how very, very lost they are.
They are invalidating 20% 150000 - 20% = 120000....so even if sKerry wins 100% it aint enough....end of story
I guess the Libertarian party tells the true when they say public fees should be voluntary...
Good use of party funds, yahoos.
mostly in small contributions. What the Euro's and Islamists are getting cheap these days, one-dollar bills in unmarked envelope's?
Idiots...complete friggin idiots.
Yeah, I love it. =^D
Exactly --- I smell Soros.... :)
