As I and many of my fellow expatriates are often hard pressed to get any non-biased information from the media (we are often stuck with CNN-International!!), I have decided to start this thread in the tradition of the Operation Iraqi Freedom Situation Room threads.  I hope this meets with the approval of Jim & John and the Admin guys . . .

The purpose of this thread is to be a place to collect information from all sources into one area for discussion.  Specific threads for specific topics and cross linking are highly encouraged.

Great turnout in here in Dodge City , KS. The wife and I just got back 5 min. ago. Got our bubbles darkened black for Bush Cheney and 4 more years.

Illegal. It's been used every time I've voted in Florida for decades, including this election. Of course my precinct runs so smoothly that there is never a line of more than ten minutes.

Can you take notes with you, when you vote? I got the ballot and none of the judges up for election, reelection were labeled Republican, Democrat or Independent.

So, halfway through filling out the ballot, I asked if I could go out into the library, get online and do some quick research, so I didn't accidentally vote for any 'rat judges.

I came back about a half-hour later and then got a new ballot, completed it, and fed it through the machine myself, where, presumably, it will later be tallied with all the others.

I would have done research earlier, except for the fact that there's appx. 30 justices' names I'd have to remember.

3 votes for Bush/Cheney, Dino Rossi, and George Nethercutt. No line. Only gentle elderly people as the poll workers and the lone election official. Nothing suspicous.

Several Republicans out holding signs throughout town. Only a couple of Kerry groups.

My parents live in Wisconsin. There is a rather sizeable Amish community, and they are voting en masse as well.

I voted this morning at Texas 3208. I got there at 9:00 and was out at 9:17.

There were no hecklers and the people at the precinct were professional and courteous.

We just came back from voting....

In Cookeville, Tn (at TTU) we didn't have any long lines, no observers, no "hecklers"....

It took us 10 minutes...

No line, zip.

Nice old lady checks your ID, you sign the voter roll next to the photocopy of your signature, she initials the entry and hands you a number slip which you then hand to the person with the electronic "key" to activate the e-voting machine.

Smooooooth as silk.

Now to get the family to the polls after work.

Tally two more for W! My wife had a 90 minute wait at 8:00 am, but I walked right in at 2:00.

I took my eleven year-old along, and she was thrilled to push to button for President Bush.

Voted here in Central Tx. no lines but steady voters coming in. Voted about 1 hr. ago. Wife should be voting now.

The line in Mt. Pleasant, SC (Near Charleston) have been 1 hour plus all day.

The crowd appeared to be mostly Bushies, but then again SC is Bush country.

From the yard signs, pretty split. However there is some public housing in the city. Over there, the bumper stickers are very Kerry.

Jim, Voting in FL since 1990 and always by the alphabet. In Bradenton now and the S - Z line is the shortest, makes me happy last name begins with W!

New Hampshire (swing state) border town, 11 AM:

Heaviest turnout I've ever seen. Cars backed up onto side streets; people parking on the streets, since the parking lot was full.

All ages - 20/30-somethings, young families with kids, invalid elderly.

Once inside the building, every line moved quickly - very efficient, everybody well-behaved.

Low-tech paper ballots you mark by hand, so no waits due to broken/too few machines.

When I left, the line of cars backed up on the side streets was even longer.

Kerry/Edwards sign holders at several street corners on main roads in my town and in Nashua. Resisted urge to flash 'em the finger.

Sure.

FWIW, I've got Bush winning the 11/2 vote to the tune of 289-249 (Bush picks up Wisconsin and New Mexico from 2000, Kerry picks up New Hampshire). Of course, those provisional "ballots" in Ohio and Wisconsin (the RATs won't dare try this in Florida) will likely change things.

First polls close in less than an hour and a half (EST portions of Indiana and Kentucky). First states with results at 7 pm EST (when the polls in CST parts of Indiana and Kentucky close, along with Georgia, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Vermont and Virginia).
