Datura: they are picking up harmonic tremors from the lava dome. NOT a good sign.

Especially bad if you live in Portland because thats the way the wind is going today... away from me anyway!!
To: Siegfried
Cavuto just interviewed some "expert" now who said, when asked by Neil how she knows that the coming eruption will be small, "I've worked with volcanoloists, I'm a member of this, I'm an expert in that...."
Meanwhile she didn't answer his question.

Blowing West, that nice. Unless, of course, you happen to live in Idaho. Blow North old wind, blow North. ;) I'll be watching for crud in the air. It might be a good time to put the F150 back in the garage to preserve the paint.

Directly south of MSH (almost) and about 55 miles from it. Gresham is east of Portland. Just 'down the road a piece'.

I dont want to be covered in Volcano Ash AGAIN please! It was bad enough in 1980. That ash is radioactive you know...
To: Siegfried
Mt. St. Helen's seems to be just letting off a little steam.
Hole blasted open. She may settle down or she may blow big time again. Time will tell.

"I'm coming to Gresham, Oregon, in a couple of weeks on business. Is Gresham near MSH? "
About 50-60 miles is my guess. I live a bit SW of Gresham myself.

That's not tough enough, I know the answer and I'm not Don. Yeah, but we've both been around long enough to know....

Lessee now ... term limits.... That would be Mr. Tom Tancredo, wouldn't it? It think "nutty" is an apt general description of ol' Tom....

I used to have some of that ash, I was a kid then. Someone sent it to me who was out there. I got to wondering what the volcanic ash was made of. I didn't have a chem set so I decided to taste it. I decided it tasted a lot like fireplace ash.
I wasn't the brightest kid but I enjoyed myself ;-)
Wife thinks I'm nuts....

The seismograph tremor profile changed. Immediately after the eruption it died down, but its going back up. However they are continuous rather than sporadic

Yeah, that's what they've been calling harmonic tremors.

I think KGW had the scientist that said this reminded him of the activity in April of '80.
