Liberals Losing it over Swift Boat Charges - Fox News Watch Libs on Brink of Breakdown
Fox News Watch - FNC

Posted on 08/29/2004 3:55:11 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

The pounding Kerry has been taking from the Swift Boat Veterans over his Vietnam record, and his concomitant poll plunge, is literally driving his liberal supporters crazy.

The evidence was at hand on last evening's Fox Media Watch (the rebroadcast of which I'm watching this morning at 6:30-7 AM EDT).

In all my years of watching the show, I cannot recall the resident liberals - Jane Hall (a woman of a certain age), and the small-but-perfeectly formed Neal Gabler - so absolutely beside themselves.

So frenzied was Gabler that you almost imagined the men in white suits would have to make an appearance before Gabler hurt someone or himself. He was apoplectic at the notion that the panel was discussing the merits of the issue at all, declaring that this just played into Karl Rove's diabolical plot. He simply wanted to declare that the allegations were false, a fraud, etc. and would brook no debate.

Biting the Fox paw that feeds her, Jane Hall blamed "the cable news networks" for perpetuating the story. Both the libs agreed that it was wrong of the media to present both sides of the story, since in their view there is only one side - all the Swift Boat Vets for Truth are lying.

When Cal Thomas attempted to cite the statement by William L. Schachte Jr., a retired rear admiral, to the effect that he was on the same small boat as Kerry but did not witness any enemy fire during the event for which Kerry received his first Purple Heart, Gabler totally lost it. He screamed and cut Cal off, determined that there would be no more discussion of the issue.

Never have I seen the libs in such blind panic and fury. They know that Kerry's lies about his record have come home to roost and will ultimately cost him the election. It was glorious!

The best way to look at it is the shrinking poll numbers for Kerry prior to the Republican Convention, and the Vet's book being number one on the New York Times bestseller list, simultaneously. Numbers don't lie.

The libs know Kerry has bet it all on his 4 month service. If swiftvets stories are believed, Kerry will lose by 10% and will get about 150 EV.

Fahrenheit 1971 trumps Fahrenheit 911.

... and it's only going to get hotter. Good thing the libs like global warming.

Anyone else watch it? Brown is normally well-composed. Articulate. Polite

Yes, I did, and felt as though I'd wandered into a strange world of failed satire. Bennett just kept laughing at him. These scream-over-the-truthtellers libs have been so aggravating, but now I think I'll laugh at their panic instead. It's healthier....lol.

Just now stumbled onto the McLaughlin Group, which I had chosen not to watch for several years because of the Clift one, but I was startled at what a Kerry kisser McLaughlin has become. He hardly lets Tony Blankley finish a thought; Buchanan just inappropriately laughs his loud horse laugh; etc etc etc. Nothing there added to the national dialogue.

What else do the morons have? All they can do is declare victory when they're suffering defeat.

Looks to me like they all have Baghdad Bob's personality.

I hate schadenfreude--I realize that this is like starting a sentence with "Not being inquisitive, but..." --but I can't help loving it when the psychotic Leftists go bananas. We already know they're nuts, but when they explode into a frenzy it all just gets so funny!

I guess part of the fun is wondering how much they can withstand without realizing themselves that they're bonkers!

It seems that the human capacity for denial is unlimited, but you can't help wondering if reality will come crashing down on them at the next minute. And what would happen if it did? Would they explode in laughter at themselves? Would they become catatonic? Would they just explode? Would they melt like the Wicked Witch? You can't help wondering.

Hello,

OK, lets say that the Libs pull a switch prior to the election. How will that go over? Personally, I would be ready to march in the streets (here, in Washington DC, wherever) to protest. If this happens and it is allowed, we, as a nation of laws, are done.

Freepers, what do you say? What will be the results, and will we as a nation allow this to happen (assuming it does).

Glad to be here, MOgirl

Jane Hall blamed "the cable news networks" for perpetuating the story.

Hall only needed to throw in talk-radio and the internet. The 'new' media is continuing to bury the DNC-mouthpiece 'old' media (newspapers, weekly news-magazines, and broadcast news), and it's all over but the wailing and the final death kick.

Good riddance to them all. The damage done to this nation by the 'old' media in collusion with the liberal Democrats will take decades to repair, if it is not already too late. Go, Swift Boat Veterans for Truth!!!

It would go over okay, but people would be uneasy about it. As long as the justification for the switch is "okay" (Kerry has a health problem, nervous breakdown, or otherwise has a "good" reason to resign), a switch would be accepted. Heck, we accept "switches" due to resignation, see Agnew, Nixon .. resulting in Ford taking the office before running for it. Similar could happen before or during a presidential election.

Hello,

Of course you are correct about prior resignations, however, I do believe that the reaction now could be different than in the past. Especially if it become obvious that the "reason" given for it is fake. If this is pulled too late and Kerry is really hurting in the polls (worse than now), I don't think the reaction would be unease with it. Of course, I have been wrong (oh boy have I!) before, so we shall have to wait and see.

Glad to be here, MOgirl

Yah, but think of this as a jury "convicting" a president. The Dems have claimed "Bush Lied." Now their "star witness," Kerry, himself seems to have lied. The "jurors" (the voters) can't sort it all out, so "reasonable doubt" lies with Bush. It's a rotten way to do things, but that's our system, and for now it benefits us.

Both Agnew and Nixon resigned due to scandal. Kerry could too. There are many possible premises for resignation. The DEM party will not use the Toricelli reason (we can't win with the Torch, and the people deserve a close race), I don't think. Well, on second thought, maybe they would, but that reason would be incendiary.

The scumbags can whine and squeal about "dirty politics" all they want. It was the scumbags who spent the whole spring bleating about George Bush being "AWOL" from his Guard unit and being a "draft dodger", etc. The White House was forced to produce military records, pay stubs - - even dental records for crying out loud - - until the whole fabricated "scandal" story eventually fell apart. Bush's Guard contemporaries and commanders backed him up, as did all the records.

No, there was never anything to the story from the beginning but the Democrats accomplished what they wanted to do - - smear Bush in the public mind by relentlessly asserting that "there are still some questions". Even now there are plenty of liberal newsrooms who slip the word "questionable" into any reference they make about Bush's Guard service. Okay, scumbag Democrats - - mission accomplished.

And now? And now it is time for the scumbag Democrats to ingest poop and expire.
GO, SWIFT BOAT VETS!!!

Someone ought to call her on her behaviour towards
Bill Clinton, who really was lying.

I did not have sexual relations with that woman,
Monica Lewinsky.
