Liberals Losing it over Swift Boat Charges - Fox News Watch Libs on Brink of Breakdown
Fox News Watch - FNC

Posted on 08/29/2004 3:55:11 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

The pounding Kerry has been taking from the Swift Boat Veterans over his Vietnam record, and his concomitant poll plunge, is literally driving his liberal supporters crazy.

The evidence was at hand on last evening's Fox Media Watch (the rebroadcast of which I'm watching this morning at 6:30-7 AM EDT).

In all my years of watching the show, I cannot recall the resident liberals - Jane Hall (a woman of a certain age), and the small-but-perfeectly formed Neal Gabler - so absolutely beside themselves.

So frenzied was Gabler that you almost imagined the men in white suits would have to make an appearance before Gabler hurt someone or himself. He was apoplectic at the notion that the panel was discussing the merits of the issue at all, declaring that this just played into Karl Rove's diabolical plot. He simply wanted to declare that the allegations were false, a fraud, etc. and would brook no debate.

Biting the Fox paw that feeds her, Jane Hall blamed "the cable news networks" for perpetuating the story. Both the libs agreed that it was wrong of the media to present both sides of the story, since in their view there is only one side - all the Swift Boat Vets for Truth are lying.

When Cal Thomas attempted to cite the statement by William L. Schachte Jr., a retired rear admiral, to the effect that he was on the same small boat as Kerry but did not witness any enemy fire during the event for which Kerry received his first Purple Heart, Gabler totally lost it. He screamed and cut Cal off, determined that there would be no more discussion of the issue.

Never have I seen the libs in such blind panic and fury. They know that Kerry's lies about his record have come home to roost and will ultimately cost him the election. It was glorious!

Terry: Doug, it's Terry.

Doug: Hi Terry.

Terry: It's time for a line in the sand, you've got to cut off all talk of the Vets if you ever want to walk down the aisle and make it stick.

Doug: Thanks Terry, consider it done.

Terry: Yeah, uh, do you have Estridge's number?

SOP for the left: shout down and filibuster if you can't argue facts. That is exactly what we both saw this morning. The reason they're panicking is that they can't control the information anymore, and the newest polls show that Ketchup Boy is losing ground, in part due to the fact that people believe the Swifties.

the small-but-perfeectly formed Neal Gabler ... So frenzied was Gabler that you almost imagined the men in white suits would have to make an appearance before Gabler hurt someone or himself. He was apoplectic at the notion that the panel was discussing the merits of the issue at all, declaring that this just played into Karl Rove's diabolical plot. He vehemently insisted allegations were false, a fraud, etc., and would brook no debate!

When another panelist began citing the statement by RAdmiral (ret) Schachte that he on the same boat as Kerry yet did not witness enemy fire ... Gabler totally lost it. He screamed and cut the other panelist off, incensed and brutal that there would be no more discussion of the issue.

Slighty re-written to better accord with what I saw. Rarely have I seen such well ordered, elite, journalistic individuals in such blind panic and fury.

The libs are freaking out.

Great article. Thanks for the link. I didn't pay close attention, but did see Gabler's scream. I got a kick out of this line ...

The Bush haters are shifting, scratching, hemming, hawing and twitching like a 14 year old Amish boy whose mother has just fond his Playboy stash in the horses feed bag.

I'd shell out ELEPHANT bucks to actually watch that happening, on live television. :)

Jane Hall was an embarrassment to "journalism", to FoxNews, and (who cares) to herself!

She must go. She can take weaselly Neil Gabler, Juan Williams and Mara Liason with her.

Better yet, how about this? FoxNews can still be 'Fair and Balanced' ('HONEST and TRUE' would be better), here's how. Give those above mentioned lefty losers their own show, get their bothersome *sses off all the other shows, and things will be just fine! What do you say?

Sounds like I missed a good Fox Newswatch. I quit watching Fox and all the rest after Bill became the O'Kerry Factor.

Saw that last night, Hall: But it might all be lies! What if they're all lies!?!? Garble"Don't say they're credible! DO NOT SAY THEY'RE CREDIBLE!!!!" Total meltdown. Almost cartoonishly so.

I love it!! The Shark has jumped. Let the Kerry free-fall begin. The truth will set us free. Did you ever notice that liberals always accuse conservatives of the bad behavior that they themselves really engage in. For example, the "these ads are from the republican spin masters in Texas" refrain. In fact, I know many of these honorable vets. They are not taking orders from anyone. But yesterday, I actually saw a Kerry supporter reading "Move On.org" talking points on Rittenhouses Square in Philadelphia. She accused me of reading the Republican talking points when I tried to engage her in debate. After several unsuccessful attempts at a free thought exchange, I left a screaming "Bush lied, people died" idiot hysterical in the park. Quite fun actually.

Did you all see Capital Gang last night? Al Hunt and Mark Shields damn near had strokes. Schachte has really upset them.

Because it puts into question Kerry's purple heart .. which then puts his other medals into question

All Kerry has to do is sign that 180 form and he could put this all to rest

But he won't because he knows it will lead to a whole new can of worms

In any case, Gabler's panicked reaction to the truth getting out was actually more telling than anything Cal could have said.

Yep. Not many people see the program anyway, but the reaction shows what a farce the media is.

Ah, yes...but FReepers can work their particular kind of magic by contacting Fox Media Watch and telling them that we are all well aware of the lib tactic of wimps like Gabbler who shout over valid points made by conservatives to try to stop a discussion. It happens in EVERY venue, so it's not difficult to see what they're doing. EVERY FReeper ought to leave that show a message and let's see what the feckless "moderator", who lets Gabbler and Jane get away with it, has to say next week. I've already sent mine.

Is there any possible way they can put Hillary on the ballot?

I'm not sure. End of September? They could put in Gore, or maybe put Gore in #2, replacing the virtual non-entity of Edwards, and put . . . Zel Miller, at #1? More likely Gebhardt, Biden, and so on. Not Hil.

So, what are the internal Rat polling numbers that Gabler and company are so carefully keeping hidden? Once they get out, the deluge may be total and Bush wins in a landslide. That's what they're so scared of. The RAT game plan for the weekend: Keep Botoxboy away from cameras, well, microphones, anyway. Have him cavort about on jetskis attempting to look manly. No, that won't work. Plan b. Slam Bush at every opportunity, bus lefty loonies to NYCity, dig up any RAT who ever knew GW as a boy, have him/her to say on tv that GW was a serial killer in the making, tortured small animals and set fires, wet his bed. Mass firings on Kerry's staff imminent.

Fox is conservative. It can't possibly employ liberals and allow them to regularly express liberal positions.

Watching Hannity and Coms (Sacrborough?) last week, Mayor Jerry Brown of Oakland vs. Bill Bennett. Anyone else watch it? Brown is normally well-composed. Articulate. Polite. He was none of these things the other night! Rude! Interupting Bennett. Red-faced. Stuttering, rambling on, incoherent.

Ya, I know he is a liberal, but he favors Flat-tax, reform of IRS, and a few other positive things. Yet, last week, he was completely out of control!

I enjoyed every second, as did Bill Bennett!

The amazing thing to me is: Every time a major Dem gets in trouble/hand caught in the cookie jar, Republicans end up resigning

no surprise. socialism is based on deception. group deception is the plan each day for the party. whether it's taking property or violating election law, they know they have to get the moderate voter who would not approve of direct criminal activiy and must be kept in the dark.

I bet RATs are already discussing having Hill save them from Kerry. This next week is make or break time for him, which is why his planning session on Nantucket is so crucial. He has to switch the conversation from himself to the 'issues'. But 'issues' are so boring, everybody's eyes glaze when they hear the word, except RAISING TAXES, which Kerry can't talk about because that's his secret plan for after he's elected. So what to do? Smear Bush, well, that's been tried for the past four years with little result. Kerry has to come up with something else. I'm sure the missus is offering to put a few hundred million down here and there to buy votes on Nov. 2. And those foreign UN voter inspection people won't know who's legal and who's not. They'll do a whole lot of good, Not, come election day. Kerry has to offer up something so wonderful, original, so good, a miracle in fact, that people will vote for him even though they know he's a liar, fraud, lout, treasonous pimp, etc.. I don't have the answer for Kerry, but I suspect that RATs high in the party think it's Hill.
