It's certainly an odd story.
Yeah, .50 isn't a weak catridge. Didn't they invent that to take out lightly armored tanks in WWI? I know they still use it officially as an "anti-material round" (and I think Kerry intimated that it was a "war crime" to only have those to fire back. Whatever, Johnny).
I remember reading the "after-action weapon reports" the army and Marines made about their small arms (and larger weapons) in Iraq. One of those reports said an Iraqi was hit in a water tower (from almost a mile away) by a .50 M82A1 (I think). They said the bottom half of the torso stayed, the top half "fell down" (IIRC). Split 'em in half. That was from a good distance away. So reports that the VC got up after a .50 burst (from 50 or so yards away) is suspect. I would be amazed if he had anything to shoot at after the .50's were done. I'd imagine that the VC would be a puddle of gore. Kerry still has a lot of 'splainin to do, IMHO.

Aren't purple hearts awarded based on wounds recieved from enemy fire? Wouldn't a boil that developed on your foot be outside of that parameter?
Yeah, you're right though, that guy at least required a hospital stay for his wounds. Weren't the 1st and 3rd of Kerry's PHs tiny wounds, that didn't require hospitalization, only forceps to pull out shrapnel, and then a band-aid to cover them? 50 bucks says if anyone of us had the audacity to request PHs for wounds like that, we'd have been laughed out of the CO's office.

"The SC kept on saying that Kerry saved Rassman's life and that the other Swifties were sitting there passively as Kerry played hero."
That's bulls***. The other boats said they picked up people in the water too. Kerry's guys say everyone else bugged out. EVERYONE ELSE said Kerry bugged out, while they stayed. Then he eventually came back, picked up Rassman (not under fire), and HE gets a Bronze star for it?
Again, 3 or so other boats full of people say one thing, one boatfull says another. CYA.

I remember reading that the swift boats had twin .50s and a .60 machine gun. That's a heck of a lot of fire power when aimed at a human body on shore. It had to be very effective leaving little reason for our hero to go ashore which not only violated regulations but rendered the entire crew vulnerable. He did so because he had to build on his "war hero" reputation that he knew he could spin into a political career.
The man's a slug.

"I actually kicked the crap out of the commies, before I started fighting for them." A more honest tagline for sKerry.

lol!
If anything is sure about John Kerry (and very little is) it is that he holds no convictions on any issue.
If I were a democRAT I'd be embarrassed.

I think you're right about having to be in a combat situation to receive a PH; a vet would know the whole story about that but there must be some qualifier about a wound sustained in a combat situation, even if it is an infection ... ?
None of kerry's owies required hospitalization.

Haven't read it, but it doesn't surprise me. I was scared about the possibility of Hillary being CiC for my husband, but Kerry at the helm seems even scarier at this juncture.

Looks to me like the only thing they're embarrassed about is not picking someone more photogenic and warm. Speaks volumes, doesn't it?
Besides the few that are embarrased about their party, like Zell Miller and Koch.

If Kerry were as much of "hero" as he tries to portray himself, he'd be trying to keep stories of him covering up his wounds so he wouldn't be put in a hospital from coming on the news because "I'm not trying to grab all the glory, the other guys had it worse."
He's been blaring it out from every mountaintop. Real Heros don't act like that.

Could Jeh probably be is his mamma's "unique" way of spelling "Jay"????

My bad South. Nice news to hear! Pro-gun democrats are always welcome in my book! Didn't this guy come on H&C earlier tonight?
To: mbennett203
He did. Funny how the dims loved Jumping Jim Jeffords when his switch (albeit to Independent) handed them control of the senate yet they call Alexander scum even though his switch did not.
Liberalism is a sourge on society and more and more libs are finally realizing and/or admitting it.

I just listened to Colmes ask if he felt he misled people by taking all these campaign contribs by people sending money to a democrat, and then switching parties. Hey Allen, hey didn't pass himself off as a liberal and then fool everyone by switching. He got voted in as a conservative, now he's coming to where home was all along.
Like Hannity said: welcome to the right side. They're pro-choice, the Dems, but not for you to choose which school to send your kids to, not for you to choose which guns to own... just cool with the idea of removing "inconveniences." Pro choice my a**.
