Possible terrorist sighting roils isle
Suspect sought on Nantucket

HYANNIS -- A long-sought suspected Al Qaeda member who has eluded a concerted international dragnet may have been sighted at a Nantucket airport this week, prompting the FBI to distribute a picture of the suspect to law enforcement and transportation officials on the island.

Law enforcement authorities declined to disclose details of the possible sighting of Amer el-Maati, who allegedly has talked about hijacking a plane in Canada and flying it into a building in the United States. Certainly that explosion was a mere coincidence. Couldn't be anything else...connects with 5 major pipelines (wonder when the last time was that they checked for leaks on this line? I would think that someone would have been responsible to monitor those lines for just such an occurrence on a set timetable.

I'm off to a gathering of about 1 MILLION people today here in Chicago. Thankfully, I really haven't heard any chatter here about the Chicago Air and Water show along Chicago's lakefront and beaches as a target. But think of it...Apache helicopters, A-10 Warthogs, F-14's, F-16's, F-18's, the B-2, C-130's, KC135's and probably more. All of these flying over you with sand under your feet. Should make most any terrorist feel like he was back home!

Bali bomber pledges fresh attack

UNREPENTANT Bali bomber Imam Samudra has warned he will continue to wage jihad if a recent constitutional court decision means he is set free.

Vowing to carry out more bombings against "unbelievers", Samudra said: "I want to continue my Jihad Fie Sabililah (violent holy struggle).
"I want to go to Moro (in the Philippines). I want to go to Afghanistan. I want to go to Israel to kill Sharon."

Speaking from his death-row cell in Bali's Kerobokan prison, Samudra vowed to kill again. "If I get the death penalty, I will die a martyr's death. If I'm free, I'll bomb again. You got it?"

I would have said the same thing about the impressive kill list rolled up by those gentlemen the last time they were active. I'm a teacher of history, and I find that history is written by the minions of those who guide (not control..that is the realm of God) those events. The reality is usually listed for the masses, who blindly accept it, as a "fringe concept"......at best a footnote.

I seem to remember a long running advertisement in the back of magazines like Popular Mechanics and Popular Science for the sale of weather balloons for fun and profit. Wonder if they're still being sold and if there has been a recent spike in sales volume?

I go to Nantucket often and was there a week-and-a-half ago. There were security guards, not Steamship Authority employees, checking things very closely on the ferries and on the fast boat. The people they interviewed in the article must be brain dead if they saw no heightened security. They were randomly searching luggage and wanding people - even on the small fast boat. If they were doing that at the ferries you KNOW they were watching the airport closely. It's a mecca for corporate jets and some weekends they have as much traffic as O'Hare.
