I seriously wonder if this will get as big a bump as people are saying. I guess we'll see in the days to come.

Two Washington insiders, the VP with no experience . . .
To: AmishDude
I was young. Did Ford actually propose going from president to VP? Seriously? Yep that was the buzz at the Pubbie convention in Detroit in 80.
Ronald Reagan made an unprecedented appearance the night before he was officially nominated and addressed the convention saying it was George H. W. Bush to quell the rumors.

From FOX...Susan Estrich says "this is not good news for Hillary"...."they've got the next Bill Clinton on the ticket"..."win or loose, Edwards will appear as the heir apparent to Kerry"...not good for Hitliary...
HAHAHAHAHA!

We're destined to hear about his daddy working in a mill again and again. H*ll, a lot of Southerners worked in mills. He fails...ALWAYS...to mention that his daddy was in management.
Also, wonder what Hillary's plan of attack will be.

That's it. I'm not paying attention to any more of this rubbish speculation until the pick is actually made.
Kerry is bloody Prufrock - "In a minute there is time for a hundred decisions and revisions which a minute will reverse"

Kennedy and Johnson were also opponents during the primaries. I'm not sure, though, what they had to say about each other.
Kennedy and Johnson were political enemies. Kennedy selected him for the VP to sort of put him on ice--make him a political nobody, because the VP at that time was mostly a ceremonial placeholder (no real power or influence). Kennedy wanted to get Johnson out of his (Kennedy's) way for influence in the Senate. Johnson had been Senate Majority Leader.

Edwards might have to learn a second stump speech.

IIRC, Oklahoma was the only other state he won. Clark won Oklahoma.

Who is Glen Beck? An overacting radio talk show host who usually grates on my nerves with his histrionics. However, last year he did say that Edwards had something HUGE in his background that he has kept hidden. I'll probably tune in to Glenn Beck today to hear his take on this. Maybe Glenn will reveal this HUGE problem.

"well, if J+J are 20 points down in october there might be calls for another "New Jersey" maneuver."
I wouldn'y hold my breath waiting for that 20 point deficit, everything now shows a deadheat. This will probably give the J&J team a temporary boost in the polls - VP selections always seem to.

I'm predicting, based on the location of the convention, and the roster of prime time speakers, this will be all about the Kennedy's. Fat Teddy worked like hell to get the convention in Boston, so he'll try to make an effort to make it all about him as the Democrats celebrate the 35th Anniversary of Ted Kennedy barreling over the side of a bridge, sinking the USS Oldsmobile, slinking away like the worm he is, from the murder scene for which he has never been charged with committing, all the while being hailed a champion of "the little guy", hoisted upon a pedestal, for the rest of us to gag at.

Insure that the Kerry/Edwards team loses.

Why wait for October (unless Hitlery's even more Machevellian than I give her credit for)?

I imagine age weighed against Gep. They're gonna go full bore for the metrosexual vote.
___________________
I never thought Gep had a shot at it. He would bring in union votes but the RATS already have that. With Breck girl Kerry is going for the young and the young professionals. And the metrosexuals. GWBush has the reterosexual vote.
