One of the few things that keeps me intending to vote for GWB in November is his stand on terrorism. After the two debacles in Iraq where he promised heads would roll and then we pacified them by sending in their friends to control them I am beginning to think I will not be voting this November. I detest many of the things he's done on the domestic front feeling it was the war on terror that matters at this point, we can undo the social damage later. If we had let the marines clean out that sewer by finishing what they started he might well be dead right now. Maybe it's time to go with some really really (and I mean REALLY) extreme response to these animals. Like wait until they leave the body somewhere and then carpet bomb that area for a week. We should have acted like we were going to negotiate, asked for a list of the people they wanted released, and then beheaded them in public.

The beheaded body was clad in a bright orange suit, similar to those issued to suspected Islamic militants imprisoned by the United States at Guantanamo Bay - and similar to the suit another American captive, Nicholas Berg, was wearing when he was beheaded in Iraq last month by another group of Islamic militants inspired by al-Qaida.

"To the Americans and whoever is their ally in the infidel and criminal world and their allies in the war against Islam, this action is punishment to them and a lesson for them to know that whoever steps foot in our country, this decisive action will be his fate," the statement said.

Soon after the statement appeared, the website was inaccessible, with a message saying it was closed for maintenance.

Arab satellite network Al-Arabiya said there was also a video of the beheading.

An Internet site often used by Islamic militant groups linked to al-Qaida displayed a link to Johnson's beheading, but initial efforts to access the video were unsuccessful.

But yes, you are right. Many people do not understand the evil, brutal mentality of the enemy we are facing. Seeing the video would certainly cure that malady.
