A dumb question: what is the salute while holding a rifle called?

Oops - they stopped to switch pall bearers for the final leg of the journey to the coach. Now they are descending. The American flag in front and the seal of the president behind. (right?)

Burst into tears and totally lost it with the Navy Hymn. It does it every time.

(President Reagan, you are my hero.)
Why do they carry him down the side of the stair where the guards are not standing?

Looking at the schedule of events, IMHO, the one who has the hardest job is Danfort...He'll be following what I expect will be three superb eulogies, and he's not that great a speaker to begin with, and if his homily is pap and pablum, it'll be a huge downer...I hope he has ONE good sermon left in him..

I was mesmerized by the changing of the guard over the last few days. Me too, wasn't it stunning?

It's amazing to watch these young men stay in sync on their steps as they labor with that weight. Rain has begun to fall.

There are spots coming on the camera..so it is raining. That explains the stumble on the steps. It is slippery

I like the cspan coverage. I think the music is awesome whats the name of this song? Something about being lost at sea?

They made it down the steps.
Is it sprinkling out? An umbrella being held over Nancy's head.
Now, after a pause, they proceed to the awaiting vehicles. The band continues their slow and solemn song.

I'm not sure if it's raining... I don't think so.

"Are any former presidents there yet?"
I'm watching Fox and they haven't really showed much from the cathedral yet.
To: RummyChick
No commentary on Fox... excellent coverage.
