I am so glad that Nancy has included Maureen's husband, and has "allowed" his fiancee' to stand with the family. Such unity in a family that is supposed to be dysfunctional.

The media did interview with several service members yesterday. All of them said the same thing "I came to say Goodbye to MY Commander in Chief". I just lost it...

Casket leaves rotunda. Godspeed, MR. PRESIDENT

I was mesmerized by the changing of the guard over the last few days.

After Fox cut away their camera way too quickly on Wed, I swore I'd watch CSpan today (which I am). What a beautiful ceremony.

Carried his casket out of the Rotunda... so solemn, and respectful. Big lump in throat now...

Still laughing at that! Tipper isn't in the Swan Dress, is she?
We can laugh, but it's sad, if you think about it. These other networks are treating the coverage of a STATE FUNERAL as if it's about the "celebrity" politicans arriving at the Cathedral. It is not. It is about the death of a President.
Fox is now showing the empty Rotunda. Classy.
To: cyncooper
Shot of the empty Rotunda. Very somber

does an agent stay on duty? They must. Fox interviewed the secret service agent yesterday who protected Pres. Reagan for 17 years! He did not do so up until the end. He said that he last saw Reagan about two years ago when he visited and just couldn't visit again because he remembered the man who said "Mr. Gorbochev, tear down this wall!" [Thanks--I'm at work and really don't need these tears streaming down my face.] He didn't give the exact years in which he protected the late president.

I'm gonna be running back and forth to my manager's office - TV is on Fox. As long as I get to see Pres. Bush's eulogy. I thought VP Cheney was magnificent the other evening. I love him.
To: Inspectorette
I too am at work with my red white and blue shirt on and box of tissues.. along with cspan minimized.. and foxnews live min tv. on my desk.
Thank you President Reagan.
God Bless You and Mrs. Reagan and God Bless our Country!

I am taping the whole thing...have been since the other day. Me, too. I now have my own personal Reagan library ;)
To: mrobison
Brit does break the silence to inform us we will not see the casket for a few minutes as it is taken down an interior stairway--soon to emerge.
(maybe they'll let them use an elevator)
To: NautiNurse
Reagan has been carried slowly and reverently from the rotunda - Fox just showed a birds-eye view of where the casket once stood... of course now empty. They are now showing an exterior view preparing for the President to be conveyed to the hearst.

Yes, the media is treating it as a celebrity event. And the dems. are treating it as a political event. Both are shameful.

Once again this week...thanks for sharing the pictures.
