It is 547 am EST, and the people keep coming... they've never stopped coming since the doors to the Rotunda were opened on Wednesday... just incredible...

They are changing the guard now. As usual, they let the people stay in the rotunda to watch the ceremony.

But when the guard's not changing, they seem to be hurrying those who came to pay their respects to President Reagan more than they did yesterday. It seems like they are trying to get as many people on line in as possible before 9AM.

GWBush had the perfect answer to that acusation during the 2000 debates. "I want to give EVERYONE a tax cut"

Cut my taxes and watch me hire more people.

add to that:
Cut my paperwork and I guarantee I will hire more people.

The Rotunda is certainly impressive, but the Simi Library repose seemed more intimate...

This is amazing. People from all walks of life --- young, old, suits, jeans.... Almost always silent in the Rotunda. Al you hear are footsteps and the guy barking out "please keep the line moving" when it stalls.

The Rats who said Reagan was only for the rich must be in shock right now...

Nah. They've already formulated a response: You can see it in today's Slimes' front page "news" article on the Reagan legacy. There was a huge outpouring for President Harding when he died in office. But he later exposed as a scoundrel. The sheeple, especially today's poor, just don't know any better. /cyncial Dem spin

The Library repose was more intimate. The Rotunda repose is more awe-inspiring due to the location and historical significance. President Reagan's coffin is lying on a pedestal some of whose boards were used to hold President Lincoln's coffin when he was lying in repose at the Capitol.

Harding was never exposed of anything.. he had some corrupt cabinet members, who were exposed after he died.

The better parallel to Harding would be JFK. Problem is that the media shills who love him are still kicking. I suspect JFK will be viewed more like Harding once the 60s generation begins to die off...

Listening to the Capitol historian, it is unchanged from the time of Lincoln the cloth might be new give the hundred year span but it is the same wood constructed object.

With only 2 hourse and 38 minutes to go I imagine they will move people much faster. They must have cut the line off outside by now.

oh... and notice how the leftist scumbags are constantly moving the bar. They never admit that they were wrong, they just immediately come out with some new bunch of drivel.

During the 80s, they said we should model our own country after the Soviet Union. They had higher literacy than America, free health care for everyone, no homeless, etc.

I REMEMBER READING THIS DRIVEL from the leftist scum.

They said Reagan was a warmonger and a dunce to go against the Evil Empire, that it would lead to nuclear war, and we should just accept the Soviet empire as a given.

Then once the Soviet Union collapsed, they said it was inevitable anyway, and Reagan had nothing to do with it.

Scum.

EVERYBODY MAKE THE DEBATE KERRY VS REAGAN.

The DNC talking point of the day is Bush does not compare to Reagan.

Never forget what Kerry said about Reagan when Reagan was alive, not these crocodile platitudes.

Cut my taxes and watch me hire more people.

Hiring an employee in the State of California nowadays is like gaining a dependent child. I know small business people who find it far more profitable to: let their employees go; cut back on the amount of work their business does; and then just run the small business by themselves.

Harding was never exposed of anything.. he had some corrupt cabinet members, who were exposed after he died.

That may be the reality, but it's not the liberal historian spin. When you say Harding, they say "Teapot Dome". The Slimes is trying to slime Reagan's legacy so that when you say "Reagan", they say "Iran-Contra".

The better parallel to Harding would be JFK.

Absolutely. Both died in their first term in office. Both followed Presidents of the other party. Both had huge outpourings of affection for them immediately after their deaths. But don't tell this to the Slimes --- President Reagan didn't die in office. But the outpouring for him far surpassed the outpouring for President Nixon.

I suspect JFK will be viewed more like Harding once the 60s generation begins to die off...

Perhaps. But even Generation X was brought up on the myth of Camelot, so it might take a little longer than that. And I doubt that he will ever be viewed quite as badly as President Harding by liberal historians. The worst they can do is when you say Kennedy, they say "Bay of Pigs", which was more of a military blunder than scandal impinging on the administration's integrity.

The Rats who said Reagan was only for the rich must be in shock right now...

They are learning how irrelevant they have been. Trashing Reagan for over 15 years has not been very productive for the leftist media shills. Their constant Reagan bashing may have seduced the mind numbed couch potatoes, but couch potatoes rarely get off the couch anyway.

We freed some hostages and gave money to guerillas who were fighting a Communist dictatorship... and this dictatorship was later voted out of office in free elections..

So Iran-Contra is a problem because... ?

One thing is I believe many liberals have concluded that it is in their interest, at least for this election year, to praise Reagan as a great president, and then simultaneously attack Bush. I saw Carl Bernstein do this the other night on a talk show.

He was saying "Reagan was a statesman, unlike Bush..." "Reagan worked well with the opposition, unlike Bush..."

If you're asking me, there was nothing wrong with Iran-Contra. It was a pragmatic response to the twin evils of communism and terrorism.

But the Slimes spin has been that the administration broke "the law", and President Reagan knew about it and/or planned it. It only took 10 paragraphs of their multi-page obituary for them to begin the spin. And what the Slimes spins on Monday usually becomes DNC talking points on Tuesday. The liberal historians pick up on the Slimes spin and the cycle is complete.

Because it was a successful goal. The problem was that Reagan's staff knew what reagan would have wanted as a goal and they went on to do it with plausable deniability as part of their method.

The left has a problem because of the last part. The left is under the delusion people will knowingly vote for slavery when they have their eyes open. This is why liberals call themslevs progressives, communists call themselves unionists and socialists clal themselves internationalists.
