It is 547 am EST, and the people keep coming... they've never stopped coming since the doors to the Rotunda were opened on Wednesday... just incredible...

They are changing the guard now. As usual, they let the people stay in the rotunda to watch the ceremony.
But when the guard's not changing, they seem to be hurrying those who came to pay their respects to President Reagan more than they did yesterday. It seems like they are trying to get as many people on line in as possible before 9AM.

Imus is a 100% Clymer. Was just channel surfing and hit MSNBC. They just had the entire Ray Charles rendition of "America" from the 1984 Republican Convention. The camera kept cutting between Charles, the Convention audience, and Presidents Reagan and Bush 41 plus Nancy and Barbra ( all in the same shot ). Was one of the most wonderful things I've seen replayed this week so far. After it was over Imus said that Ray Charles was probably the only black person there. Screw MSNBC.

They wouldn't allow anyone to get in line after 2:30AM. Showing up at 4 AM did not work out for me. Kristinn got on line at 11PM and when I talked with him around 5:15 he was just passing to Botanical Gardens. The Gipper could have been in the Rotunda for several days and the crowds would not have deminished.
I guess the Big Boss Man is following an old stage adage, "Always leave them wanting more" ;>)

Liberal lover Brian Lamb is on C-span now, taking phone calls. Someone asked about Clinton's not speaking at the funeral, considering that we're about to endure weeks of 24/7 flogging of his book, so why should Clinton even think of thrusting himself into Reagan's funeral, and Lamb insisted that he hadn't heard one word that Clinton was upset or angry. Why don't I think Lamb is telling the truth???

Just on CSPAN a moment ago:
CSPAN (dem/dim) caller: We need to put FDR on Mount Rushmore.
Grover Norquist: Uh, he IS there!
Caller continues to accuse Norquist and conservatives of revisionist history.

I wasn't the last person in line but I was close to it.
When I woke up around 5AM local WRC4 was saying that if you are not in line at this moment you probably would not make it into the Rotunda.
A quick brush of my teeth and I was on my way up I95 from Prince William County. Found a parking place on the north side of the Mall and got in line at about 6:10. The Capitol Hill Police were great and I was able to pay my respects at 7:40.
I believe there were about 2-300 people make it in after I did.

CSPAN says the weather will be overcast and much cooler (around 75). That should help increase the crowd numbers.
