What I just can't get through my head is that they must be clueless that they are full of lies and deceit.

To me, this is what is so terrifying. They are convinced that their cause is worthy, and that they are right. It reminds me of our past civil war.

Once again, the Dems will lose voters if they keep this crap up. They are forcing the undecided voters right into Bush's column by making all these Reagan vs. Bush statements.

What Reagan did was close some loopholes..That's what Biden called raising taxes....The dems call cutting the increase in a welfare program cutting funding....

Cite one thing Kennedy did that is lasting or important?

He nearly started WWIII but that's about it.

Kennedy talked a lot, did nothing. Johnson inherited the good feelings after the death of Kennedy and nearly destroyed the country by turning it into the great failed society.

My mother is the perfect example of what the Reagan years accomplished in terms of the economy. She was out of a job in the late 70s, and with only a high school education, there wasn't much around for her. As a single mom of three, it was impossible to thrive. But in 1981, she got a job at a manufacturing company and remained there for 15 years until she retired. Who made those manufacturing jobs possible? It wasn't Jimmy Carter...

Even Imus, the Kerry supporter, made Biden admit Reagan's tax cuts got the economy rolling again..(Imus is such a loon I never know just how serious he is about Kerry)

"But we have enough of a critical mass of conservatives if that I end up in a debate, somebody will likely have my back..."

Lucky you, those who believe as I do refuse to speak up in fear of the wrath that may come their way.

I think what really upsets them the most is that I have an unwavering set of values and beliefs that I will not sacrifice for them. It is my character and integrity they wish to undermine; that will never happen.

I'm traveling to Chicago today and will miss the national ceremony. Does anyone have any idea if CSPAN will replay it later tonight? If so, could you please freepmail the viewing schedule? Thanks a bunch. At 11:30 EDT, I, my best friend, and her little girl will be stopping our vehicle, stepping outside and taking a moment of silence in honor of Reagan...

Thank you for the ping, Mo and Tom, I can't begin to thank you enough for the screen captures. I'm knocking my men off at 10:00 (central) this morning and then I'm heading home to watch the funeral. Do y'all know what time the President and others will be delivering their eulogies? Thanks again.

Carter? I think he's busy trying to get a catapult named for himself. Like clinton, he also has a legacy to try and beef up.

Yes, but remember that some of us were appalled by our peers, and never did agree with them on anything. The trouble is that they yelled louder and got the press coverage. Those of us who supported our military, who stayed away from sex, drugs, and rock-n-roll, who didn't run to Haight, join communes, or eschew the values that have stood the test of time were pretty much ignored.

The pressure went on into the 70s, when we were told we were fools to remain home with our children, and trust our husbands. Some of these husbands never bought the "playboy" magazine, and were faithful husbands and fathers.

So, I suggest the mess was created by the media, who chose to focus on the aberrant, celebrate the mindless rebels. In my opinion, the media is the enemy of all that is good, true, just, and decent.

Yet we still are unable to challenge them for the garbage they promote and the havok they try to wreak. All in the name of "free speech"....

I support free speech, thoughtful questioning, reasoned ideas, justified criticism based on historically tested values. Do we get much of that, overall? I do not think so. And noisy disorder, no matter how senseless, still gets the microphone.
