"...they all looked honored to take part in the services in some way. I thought the same thing about their arms getting tired!"...That, and the heat this week, and the flights of steps...!
I'm really curious about this Major General (I think?) that has escorted Nancy all week, and been such a "right-hand-man" for her through all of this...was he selected by the military, or by the family, the Secret Service, or ??? Maybe he was the first to be assigned the duty, and she just wanted to keep the same person with her after that? Just wondering...he's been wonderful, too.

The erect, fine-looking General escorting Nancy throughout is not a perfumed prince. A commentator emphasized that this man's man was a distinguished warrior in battle. Which war...I didn't catch.

Oh, no, I don't think it has been posted. Thank you so much. You can always count on Barbara's son to get it right and I do so appreciate that upbringing.

The media always reported that after the shooting the Reagans would have nothing to do with the Brady family.
Yet the other day, Sarah Brady said the Reagans could not have been kinder. Kept in touch ALWAYS and often invited the Brady's to the private residence.
Beware the spin of the media. They live to tear down all that we hold dear.

I figured he was on the first 747 Air Force One that left well before the one that carried Nancy and others.

A FReeper posted earlier about a press-corp dinner where Pres. Reagan invited Nancy to say some nice words to the press, and she just stood up beside him and smiled...no nice words, just a wordless statement which spoke volumes
Does anybody else remember this? I *barely* have a recollection of the event, would love to read a report about it.
LOLOL, she had them pegged from the beginning. And snubbed them beautifully.

It will be a proud day for you when you take the oath. My future brother in law will also soon be a citizen. I hope to be at the ceremony when that happens. May God bless you and now go make us proud as a new American!!

Kerry was virulently opposed to Reagan bombing Kadaffi, said it wasn't proportional to Kadaffi's crime of bombing a nightclub where an American soldier was killed.

He and Laura (maybe the Sr's too) went to Texas for the weekend. It was weird--I stepped out of the room for a minute when they were waiting for the Reagans, then came back in to see AF1 fly into the sky . . . then the reporter said that that was the OTHER AF! with the Bushs' headed to Texas. If I recall correctly, it is Bush the elder's birthday. Not sure I heard right, but is he 80??? Anyway, supposedly he is going to parchute for his 80th birthday. Caught this from LArry King when they were on the other night, and I was changing channels.

We can only hope that since Congress has halted the Homeland Security contract to Accenture (?) because it's registered offshore, they will not allow our adversaries, the French, to profit from us. Not to mention, that the Airbus shouldn't even be allowed to be called a plane. LOL

I thought she was this great presidential historian. She, of all people, should know and understand that the Presidents themselves are to plan their own funerals. Shut up, Doris.
