"...they all looked honored to take part in the services in some way. I thought the same thing about their arms getting tired!"...

That, and the heat this week, and the flights of steps...!

I'm really curious about this Major General (I think?) that has escorted Nancy all week, and been such a "right-hand-man" for her through all of this...was he selected by the military, or by the family, the Secret Service, or ??? Maybe he was the first to be assigned the duty, and she just wanted to keep the same person with her after that? Just wondering...he's been wonderful, too.

That's his job. If Nancy had needed him 24/7 he would be there. Military hours are not defined. Weekends can be just a typical workday out in the field. The military is not allowed to be tired -- unless, of course, it's a direct command.

RE: The man who escorted Nancy all week--it's part of his duty as ?Major General? of the DC area. (not sure if that's his title . . . )

AND I was worried about the servicemen and all the steps today after the rain . . . they did great!
