Friday, Apr. 30, 2004 11:19 AM EDT More Kerry Car Troubles: 'Purple Heart 3' Vanity Plate, Outsourced SUV
Unlike most combat vets, Sen. John Kerry has never been shy about bragging on his wartime experience. But even we were surprised to hear that his 1985 Dodge is plastered with vanity plates that read "Purple Heart 3."
The Boston Herald's Howie Carr has done some research into the Kerry family's fleet of vehicles, and has turned up some interesting details.
Apart from the Purple Heart plates, Carr has discovered that Kerry's wife Teresa is hiding another family SUV at their estate on Nantucket, in addition to the Chevy Surburban the Heinz Kerrys keep at their Idaho mansion.
And for this one, the would-be first family decided to outsource.
The plates on the British-made 1997 Land Rover Defender driven by the woman who wants to be America's next first lady read MOZMBQ - a reminder of the country Heinz Kerry recently lamented she wished she'd never left.
"I can't believe my family left Africa and came to this country," she griped to the New York Post's Cindy Adams two weeks ago. "I can't believe I ever even married an American."
The plates on Teresa's 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee read HZ 57, a reference to the company whose management has spent the last few months sending out letters to the media insisting it has nothing to do with her.
And it turns out there's another outsourced car in the Kerry family's vehicular portfolio. The stepson of the Democrat's man-of-the-people candidate tools around in a nifty 2002 Porsche 911.

If there had been any kind of immigration laws, Tereza and her entire family would still be in Africa - and hopefully S##t-for-brains would be with her.

The Democrats are desperate and will go to great lengths to win. Absolutely.
...but who said anything about them being desperate and will go to great lengths for Kerry to win?
Prediction: Kerry melts down. At DNC convention, Hillary is "drafted" (after extensive planning including Kerry's meltdown). One month later, McCain-Feingold kicks in stopping most anti-Hillary advertising, while leaving media eliete to promote her. Three months of pro-Hillary hysteria is just enough to get her elected - bypassing the standard year-long full campaign which she could not survive.

you have to pay to access the author's aritcles Someone better do that NOW before the article "disappears"!

You'd think that anyone serious about a presidential bid would have gotten his domestic affairs in order before throwing his hat into the ring. The fact that sKerry didn't shows either that he's a very poor planner, or that he's extremely arrogant. My guess is that he's guilty on both counts.

Calif also has a purple heart emblem similar to NY's.

Well, many states have Purple Heart license plates. I did some digging around (Google is our friend) and Massachusetts does have a Purple Heart plate, but I can't find a picture of it on the Massachusetts RMV's website. Maybe somebody else could have better luck.

Not that I doubt NewMax, but I would be surprised to see a US vanity plate with this many letters and spaces: "Purple Heart 3." Must be one of those special plates that go across the entire back bumper, but then again, this is Newshacks.

But even we were surprised to hear that his 1985 Dodge is plastered with vanity plates that read "Purple Heart 3." This has to be a joke.

"I can't believe my family left Africa and came to this country," she griped to the New York Post's Cindy Adams two weeks ago. "I can't believe I ever even married an American." I simply don't believe she said this. All joking aside, she would have known that it would be extremely harmful to her husband's candidacy to criticize the US and for that matter to express regret that she married him.
She might be eccentric but I don't think she would intentionally sabotage her husband's campaign in this way. Can anyone provide a link to the Cindy Adam's report where she supposedly said this?
To: governsleastgovernsbest
Huh, it turns out she DID say that! I found the quote, off all places, on the Kerry web site. They had put up the interview with Cindy Adams.
Here's the full quote:
"I can't believe I married a second politician. I can't believe I married the first politician. He wasn't one when we met. I can't believe my family left Africa and came to this country. I can't believe I live in America, I can't believe I ever even married an American. And I can't believe we're embarked on this journey."
And here's the link:

Screw sKerry!
My Florida plate says this:
BUSH WIN
It's been on my vehicle since Jan 2001.
To: Dr Snide
"Purple Heart 3." This cannot be a Massachusetts RMV plate. There isn't room and you only get six letters on vanity plates in this Commonwealth. He would have to have the old green letters on white plates which only require a rear plate...so he might have this "Purple Heart 3" plate on the front. If he has the newer red lettered "Spirit of America" plates then those require a front and rear and he is in violation of RMV statute if he has no front plate.
