[history]
An Indian tribe has forced distributors of an Arab studies guide for U.S. teachers to remove an inaccurate passage that says Muslim explorers preceded Christopher Columbus to North America and became Algonquin chiefs.
Peter DiGangi, director of Canada's Algonquin Nation Secretariat in Quebec, called claims in the book, the "Arab World Studies Notebook," "preposterous" and "outlandish," saying nothing in the tribe's written or oral history support them.

No, did you read about the muslims that were seen fleeing Ford's Theater April 14, 1865?
Or the one citing reports of muslims in the area of Columbia, SC right after it was captured by Sherman? :))
Gee, maybe we can find a place for them in our history?

Moslems invented the telephone.

Let's not forget the 1919 world series, where Joe Shoeless Jackson and 7 others conspired to throw the game at the behest of muslims.

Makes one wonder how many more "inaccuracies" are out there in print being fed to the little mush heads in government schools. While I'll not voice my disgust with you calling my children mush heads, I will comment on the other part of your statement. I've read the texts my children are using and have found a small number of "inaccuracies" made in the name of PC-ness. Thankfully, the teachers in this district are smart enough to use a bit of this book and a bit of that book to counteract such foolishness.

calling my children mush heads....Thankfully, the teachers in this district are smart enough to use a bit of this book and a bit of that book to counteract such foolishness. Then you are blessed to live in a region where the teachers are not anti-American socialists. Good for you.
Unfortunately, "PC-ness" reigns supreme in may regions of this great land, and UNINVOLVED parents beget mush heads.
Sorry if you took offense, did the shoe fit? If not, don't take offense at a well known phrase among conservatives.

Good Lord. Upset about kids being called mush heads? That phrase has been around for ever and isn't derogatory. This is how PC rules, regulations, and laws begin - Just because one person becomes "offended".
To: kattracks
The Algonquin are missing a bet here. Claim Saudi citizenship (the only places "Arabs" were back in those days were ruled from Mecca, therefore they would be Saudis by extension) and demand the subsidies paid to all Saudis out of the oil income. In fact, demand back dated income to the beginning of the oil wealth... plus interest. I'm sure there are a few lawyers out there willing to take a case like this for a small percentage...
