Prayer Request for Freeper's Son
Me | Today | Self

Posted on 01/26/2004 12:05:16 PM PST by kimmie7

I just got the news that my precious son's (age 4) blood tests are back. He has Alpha 1 and the numbers on his liver enzymes are shooting up again.

His alkalines have almost doubles, as have ALT and AST. In short, it's not real good. Our wonderful doctor wants to check again in 3 months, but thinks we'll be headed back to Vandy for more aggressive treatment.

Please pray for his health & healing if it is God's will. Also, please pray for us as we cope. I will most certainly give God the glory and ya'll my heartfelt thanks.

Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency (AAT Deficiency or Alpha-1) is one of the most common serious hereditary disorders in the world and can result in life-threatening liver disease in children and adults or in lung disease in adults.

I'm going to have a bit of a cry now. He begged to go to Granny's for a few hours and I just couldn't say no.

We walk by faith, and not by sight;
no gracious words we hear from him
who spoke as none e'er spoke;
but we believe him near.

we may not touch his hands and side,
now follow where he trod;
but in his promise we rejoice;
and cry, "My Lord and God!"

Help then, O Lord, our unbelief;
and may our faith about,
to call on you when you are near,
and seek where you are found:

that, when our life of faith is done,
in realms of clearer light
we may behold you as you are,
with full and endless sight.

Our family is lifting up your family in continuing prayer.

I can't tell you where to get them cheapest, but I can tell you that Delta and Northwest have both been just wonderful to me every time I've flown.

As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.

And His disciples asked Him, "Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?"

Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him.

John 9 : 1-4

Ha'voo l'adonai k'vod v'oz.

(((((((kimmie)))))))

I'm so glad you are getting to go to such a reknown specialist in this disease. What an answer to our prayers.

God really is good, and prayers really do get answered kimmie.

We don't always know "how" they are being answered when we call out, but they are being answered. Of that I am positive.

Rest well little Mother, your Father in Heaven is taking care of things.

Oh,.. and THANKS for the update PING!! I love getting good news and being updated about those I'm praying for!!

God Bless, VH&W

Praise God! Just great news! WE LOVE YOU FATHER! Our ABBA!!!

For air travel...online travelocity is pretty good. But you might consider calling some major airline executives and telling them your circumstances and see what happens from there. People are often willing to help, and need info in order to get the ball rolling.

God Bless you and your precious son and family!!! (Give your father-in-law a special hug, tell him it is from a friend!! :^)

PRAISE THE LORD!!

Kimmie, that is wonderful news!!! God is so amazing! He has chosen to Bless you and your son. You are receiving some of His many miracles, and there are more on the way.

Walk by Faith and stand on His Word. He will never fail you. In 1989 I was told by doctors that I had five years or less to live. I did NOT receive their words because God is the ONLY one who knows if we will live or die. Not only did I not die, but HE healed me completely. PRAISE HIS HOLY NAME!!

I will continue to pray for you and your son. Be Blessed!

Kristy

Oh MY~
I go to work, for just one day, and look what happens while I am gone~
MIRACLES!

Hooray for you all!
We are still praying and thanking God for his blessings on your family and all of us!

Thank you for keeping us posted!
You PING us all as much as you want...we are here and we are PRAYING!

Airline tickets...I have had better luck with expedia than with travelocity when booking regular tickets.
But when there has been an extenuating circumstance..such as needing to book the flight less the 14 days in advance, you gotta talk to the airlines directly. THEY HAVE BEEN SO GOOD TO US! Especially Alaska, used to be only a west coast airline, but hey now have flights all over the place.
Be prepared to prove your circumstance, Dr. notes etc...but once you offer them the documentation, I have yet to have them really want to see it.
FReepmail me if you want any help with the phone calling...I am a good "cheapskate" caller!
Also, keep telling everybody your story...frequently flights and airline miles are donated for people with sick kids.
And get those frequent flyer miles, everywhere you can. They are a pain in the behind...but a free ticket is a free ticket!
Love to you Kimmie7! All of you!
Sincerely,
M0sby

Thanks for this advice! I will definitely be putting it to good use. We should be able to book much earlier than 14 days, but hopefully we'll go sooner. (That reads funny, but I'm sure you understand.) I'll FReepmail you if I have any more questions.
