Pat Robertson said Friday that God told him President Bush will be re-elected in a landslide.

"I think George Bush is going to win in a walk," the religious broadcaster said on his "700 Club" program on the Virginia Beach-based Christian Broadcasting Network, which he founded.

It's important not to over-estimate our support. The Dems are working real hard to convince the youth of America, AKA, the inexperienced, to vote. Could be a disaster.

Pat Robertson said Friday that God told him President Bush will be re-elected in a landslide.

So if a 'Rat beats Bush, or if Bush wins a close race, will it mean that: A) God changed his mind? B) Pat made the whole thing up for easy pub? C) Pat honestly believes God talks to him, but in reality he's just hearing his own wishes?

youth of America, AKA, the inexperienced, to vote.

It's not just the youth. It's anyone who refuses to take the time to educate themselves on issues of nat'l importance.

Folks, forget what Pat Robertson said. It means absolutely nothing! We, the people have to re-elect GW Bush, and we can start be responding to the GW Bush request for small donations, you know, the $25-100 dollar kind. A million or two of these will bury Howard Dean and his "grassroot" campaign of raising money to destroy America and hand us on a platter to the Muslim terrorists. Get with program. pronto!

I see Patty has been toking on the wacky weed again. Robertson is a twit and a first-class nutball if he thinks he talks to (word ruled unconstitutional by Ninth Circus Court of Appeals).

In some ways I like Pat Robertson and his organization...

I don't. The Christian Coalition is less than worthless. Jesus Himself could have been running in 2000 and the CC would have STILL endorsed Bush!

Pat Robertson stated that Bush senior had no worries and on the night of the election said (On the 700 Club) That Bush Sr. would beat Bill Clinton by a landslide...Pat even told his followers that he called up the Pres and told him that God told him (Pat) "that Bush would win in a landslide"

I went to bed that night comforted that God told Pat Robertson this..so it must be true...

Woke up the next day...and Clintler was in and Bush was out...

Pat never apologized for speaking wrongly or attributing to God to what he, Pat Robertson said...

Robertson is IMO a mammon preacher...dont care to hear anything he has to say about anything anymore..

He doesn't begin to qualify.

Evidently you are listening to the WRONG SOURCE.

THANKS MUCH for the details.

This sounds much more like a very strong impression or a strong hunch overlain on a strong opinion.

This is a long way from "I'M CONVINCED THAT GOD SAID . . . "

and further from

"THUS SAYS THE LORD!"

Though, such nuances are usually lost on others--even on others in the same group.

Your skepticism

strikes me as more cheeky than Robertson's faith.

It's been wisely said that

the person with

AN EXPERIENCE

is never at the mercy of someone with merely an argument.

Those individuals who have been healed via Robertson's ministry would shake their heads at you in pity.

I try to be very reluctant to tell someone that

God did not tell them something unless it's blatantly unScriptural.

I was not hiding in their brain/ears.

God has done some very strange things in history.

Time will tell.

I can afford to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I can afford to be as charitable toward them as I'd like them to be toward me.

I think his running brought a lot of conservatives and Pentecostals, Charismatics into politics for the first time. He also woke them up to some urgent issues in our country.

That was well and good and may not have happened to that degree any other way.

I don't think he ever REALLY thought he would win. I think he felt he was being obedient and that if God willed him to win, then ok fine for that miracle. But I don't think he strongly expected it.

Normally I'd agree...

But Mr. Robertson has a track record of making pronouncements and prophecies, allegedly given by God, that have failed to come to pass. The end of the world in 1982 comes to mind...

Actually, I'm glad he was wrong about that one!
