Joe Biden survived the second round of Democratic presidential debates, but it became more apparent that over half the 22-person field is irrelevant and should get out, the sooner the better.
The former vice president was repeatedly under attack on health care, criminal justice, immigration and abortion. He stumbled sometimes, but overall was sharper than his mediocre performance in the first debate a month ago.
This won't assuage fears of mainstream Democrats that the 76-year-old Biden may not be up to the challenge of a protracted primary fight and bitter battle against Donald Trump. Still he was sufficiently engaged to probably maintain his front-runner status entering the critical post-Labor Day political cycle.

Let’s try that again.

Biden said non-insane things, like it’s illegal to cross the border illegally.
He’s the front runner.

They have to narrow it down. Can you imagine if there are still 20+ candidates going into the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary, what a circus that would be?

Well thats what you want from your candidate for POTUS /s

Some of those who should soon disappear have credentials Governors John Hickenlooper [...]Jay Inslee [...]Congressman John Delaney has scored points critiquing left wing initiatives, but he has campaigned in all 99 Iowa counties for two years and has nothing to show for it.
At this point there is no longer a rationale for the candidacies of New York Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand; [...]Tim Ryan (D-Ohio), Seth Moulton (D-Mass.) and Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii); entrepreneur Andrew Yang; spiritual self-help author Marianne Williamson; New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio and hedge fund billionaire Tom Steyer.
Of COURSE there is a rationale. They are either positioning themselves for a VP/cabinet pick (as Biden himself had done successfully), getting a practice run in for 2024, 2028 or beyond, getting ready to sell a book, act as stalking horse for/against another candidate, or feed a hungry ego.
MSN may not LIKE those rationales, but they ARE rationales.

Maybe the next debate should be a pole dance contest. Tulsi will probably win, but cameltoe will show her some moves she didn’t know existed.

He’s the Dem’s lead candidate, and that’s the best they can say. With Faint Praise like that, he’s got to be good...
To: 2ndDivisionVet
First, its Democrat party and Democrat candidates, not democratic...
Second, this is just the party leaders trying to get to the ‘anointed’ candidate so as to save money for the general election. I don’t think certain candidates are going to play along though...hehe

The longer this drags out the better for our side. One of the disadvantages Trump had was the lateness in his confirmation. Took me time to warm up from Trump the persona to Trump the candidate for POTUS.

I Agree, and since it is patently obvious to just about anyone who is sighted and not deaf, the FEC should Consider 100% of their Revenues as an Illegal In-Kind Contribution

Funny he names Tulsi Gabbard among his list. She seemed quite strong on Tuesday vs. Kamala Harris.
