Ted Cruz Just Unloaded on Donald Trump
Red State ^ | January 1, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 01/12/2016 1:07:36 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

It appears that the bromance between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is probably over for good. I mean, it was one thing to see Donald Trump openly attacking Cruz for days on end. We've seen that before, and never before had Cruz taken the bait. It appears that this method of dealing with Trump has finally reached its end in the Cruz campaign.

(CRUZ): >>>I will say that it's more than a little strange to see Donald relying on as authoritative a liberal, left-wing, judicial activist Harvard Law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter (Ed. note - Laurence Tribe). It starts to make you think, "Gosh, why are some of Hillary's strongest supporters backing Trump?" You know, the last couple of elections the Democrats have gotten the nominee they wanted to run against in the general election. It seems the Hillary folks are very eager to support Donald Trump and the attacks that are being tossed my direction.<<<

Welcome to the party, Ted Cruz. Better late than never to call Trump what he is.

I, for one, am glad that the prominent conservative personalities who have been pretending Trump is a conservative and talking about him positively to bolster their ratings, will finally have to choose between their wallet and their ideology (and credibility) in this battle between Trump and Cruz. It's been a long time coming.

The new Act didn’t repeal the definition of natural born citizen. If that was the intent of the Act, it would have been spelled out. NBC was never thereafter mentioned in any of the subsequent Naturalization Acts.

“...If Trump is out of the race, large numbers of his voters are out of the race too, and will probably vote Democrat since they’ll be turned off by the economic/trade policies of Cruz or any other GOP candidate.
***********************************************************************************
So, will YOU be in those “turned off” numbers and probably vote ‘RAT?

Honest to god, I am just pounding my head against the wall.

Where in the world did you get the idea that an Act that is repealed gets to keep all its definitions if not specifically mentioned in the new Act.

Karl, are you still in your Mommy’s basement doing juvenile things. Respond back to me when you’ve matured a little bit.

That video has to have been modified. It’s just too darn weird to see her glare like that.
I would like to see the original.

Maybe this will help you armchair lawyers who continue to show you don’t have a clue.

Read this carefully
http://legal-dictionary.thefreedictionary.com/Repeal

The repeal of a law differs from the amendment thereof, because the amendment of a law involves making a change in a law that already exists, leaving a portion of the original still standing. When a law is repealed, however, it is completely abrogated.

I’m simply saying that by not addressing NBC, the subsequent Acts did not redefine nor negate the definition given by the writers of the 1790 Act. These same men wrote the Constitution. If they had wanted it redefined, they certainly could have done so.

All GOP candidates are “also rans” compared to trump. Cruz wouldn’t have the position you claim he has without trump.

I like Cruz, too. But I like trumps immigration stance better, and Cruz as a senator could have worked harder on the issue if he cared about it like you think he does.

You are wrong. Madison took it out. The 1790 Act was repealed.

That means it was DEAD. ABROGATED. FINISHED. NO LONGER LAW. NULL AND VOID

You just can’t make up things and pretend that is the way it was back in the day.

Deal in FACTS

Cruz’s immigration stance has been consistent over years. I’ve checked.

Kinda like Trump saying Cruz had “totally” changed on ethanol, a bold-faced lie.

If a winner has to lie to win, he’s a loser even when he wins.

That’s false. Cruz wrote and campaigned for his U. S. Senate bill to increase the broken H-1B program by 500% for TWO YEARS and only abandoned that bill once it became clear it was a liabilty to his POTUS campaign. Senator Principled Conservative only abandoned it when that was a negative campaign issue for him. Think about that.

Senator flip flop has been far, far from consistent on immigrant and trade issues. Cruz is exactly the “campaign conservative” he hypocritically rails about in his stump speech on those issues. Open you eyes, FRiend. Ted Cruz is not all he seems.

I am glad you liked the video. I have been remiss in posting it more often, but I will remedy that for you. I know it is a Cruzers favorite.

Also no one born a Citizen needs to be naturalized.

Under your logic the ‘Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act’ accurately defines the awb of 1993

As the court has pointed out prefatory clauses do NOT end the purpose nor extent of a law.

That you imply that the bar exam imbues one wit the sole power to understand the law is a sad commentary indeed.

I can't seem to get Trump supporters to answer a question, maybe you'll be so kind.

Do you see any flaws in Trump?

I am a Trump supporter and I am very kind, so to answer your question: Yes, I do see many many flaws in Trump.

Trump is bombastic. He is grandiose. He craves the spotlight. He seeks attention and usually gets it. He is, of now, not well versed in Conservative principles, but if you watch him often, you can discern he is learning them, and what's more important, will never be afraid to voice them publicly and often.

There is a 25-year old video out there showing Trump talking about exactly what he is talking about today. When he believes, he proclaims it. When he believes, he puts up his own money, his own life, and stands on his honor. Which has cost him dearly already and the election isn't even here yet. When you compare Ted Cruz vids for one year you find many alterations, much double speak, and evasion of a lot of difficult questions.

This is why I can overlook all of the above flaws in Trump, (and probably many others, in your estimation): This country is tired. This country has been beaten into within an inch of its life these past 8 years. As conservatives, we are exhausted, we are despondent, we have no real leaders, yet, we keep on struggling. We keep looking to the horizon for someone to lead us, inspire us, someone to trust.

A Ted Cruz presidency would be grim. Everything would be a battle, a lecture, and everyone would be an enemy. When it comes down to it, we would simply have another politician in office. I believe you can stand fast to your principles without being rigid and unwelcoming. I believe you can smile and wage war.

And finally, here's a good laugh for you: I support Donald Trump because he makes me smile. He makes me laugh and look forward to the day. In the last election, I supported Newt and I dreaded what each new day would bring. We need to laugh and to dream again. I know Ted Cruz has waged many noble battles for the Constitution in Court and reminds us everyday what the Constitution stands for, and that is very important.

But I truly believe what this country needs right now is to be inspired. We need to believe we can be more than we are. We need to believe we can reclaim our miracle. Trump is no policy wonk, he doesn't have statistics at his fingertips, but I know this: he will fight. He will do what he says. He won't follow his immigration stance with a disclaimer: We can have a conversation once the wall is built.

For good or bad, Trump is his own man. He is not owned. What he lacks in details he makes up for in vision. Trump inspires. Do you really think Diamond and Silk - and many others like them - would ever support someone like Cruz? Trump appeals to more than the usual demograph. He is a man of vision and I have read what happens to the people when there is no vision.

Flame away.

Godspeed Donald Trump.

I am starting to call them Summer Constitutionalists. They only like original intent when it suits their desires. As opposed to Winter Constitutionalists who stick to the original intent even if it is not what they want.

Picturesque and fitting that you liken it to seasons, makes me think of Ecclesiastes.

What do you suppose a time-travelling Founder would do? I think he would look at us and say, "Are you people crazy, dickering over 'is he a foreigner or is he one of us?' in the middle of this mess?"

On one side is a lifelong American, clearly not a foreigner in any way, well-versed in the Constitution, not to mention law, where he reached the peak of clerking for and then arguing before the Supreme Court, and a promoter of limited government by hewing to the Constitution, for all his adult life.

And on the other side is The Donald.

WWTFD?

I cannot speak about any such Act that you bring up if I have never looked at it.

HOWEVER, I will tell you that when 1795 repealed 1790 law that means it was DEAD. PERIOD. And James Madison did it.

Meanwhile, Trump showing everyone how to win ... by lying and telling his supporters,

"Now Ted just switched his views on ethanol. He was totally against ethanol, now all the sudden he's for it, you know, it's Iowa and he's for it."*

A guy who has to win by lying is a loser. Even when he wins.

Calling anyone that dares support someone other than Cruz “fake conservatives” or “fake Christians”. Flooding FR with every no-name blog that repeats the same in an appeal to conformity.
