Ted Cruz Just Unloaded on Donald Trump
Red State ^ | January 1, 2016 | Leon H. Wolf

Posted on 01/12/2016 1:07:36 PM PST by Cincinatus' Wife

It appears that the bromance between Ted Cruz and Donald Trump is probably over for good. I mean, it was one thing to see Donald Trump openly attacking Cruz for days on end. We've seen that before, and never before had Cruz taken the bait. It appears that this method of dealing with Trump has finally reached its end in the Cruz campaign.

(CRUZ): >>>I will say that it's more than a little strange to see Donald relying on as authoritative a liberal, left-wing, judicial activist Harvard Law professor who is a huge Hillary supporter (Ed. note - Laurence Tribe). It starts to make you think, "Gosh, why are some of Hillary's strongest supporters backing Trump?" You know, the last couple of elections the Democrats have gotten the nominee they wanted to run against in the general election. It seems the Hillary folks are very eager to support Donald Trump and the attacks that are being tossed my direction.<<<

Welcome to the party, Ted Cruz. Better late than never to call Trump what he is.

I, for one, am glad that the prominent conservative personalities who have been pretending Trump is a conservative and talking about him positively to bolster their ratings, will finally have to choose between their wallet and their ideology (and credibility) in this battle between Trump and Cruz. It's been a long time coming.

It’s going pretty much over for Ted after South Carolina and definitely after Super Tuesday.

Can't really take it seriously when it was Trump who was trashing Clinton as an "abuser" of women, while Cruz was saying he was going to take the high road. Until he realized it was polling well, then he flipped on those comments about a couple of weeks later.

That will leave a mark. Trump picked the wrong debate champion to pee on. Trump now has to debate Ted on Trump’s many weaknesses. And Trump got everyone to watch.

Oops.

Because there is no point to responding to your incorrect delusions. And the sooner the rest of people here follow suit, the sooner people can have adult discussions based in fact.

you mean the first one in 1790.. which is the only statue that uses the term.. or the ones later that rest on it as a bedrock and DO NOT ever STATE that Natural Born Citizen means other that what 1790 Says

” And the children of citizens of the United States that may be born beyond Sea, or out of the limits of the United States, shall be considered as natural born Citizens”

Full text of the 1795 amendments at
http://www.indiana.edu/~kdhist/H105-documents-web/week08/naturalization1790.html

Feel free to quote from it where the 1790 definition of NBC is resended or stricken in any way.

Or failing that any statue that redefines or changes the 1790 law.

Oh, no, CW, the Trump people here have abandoned both Rush and Levin because those two gentlemen who have been our conservative leaders for decades dared to point out a couple of warts on He Who Must Not be Criticized.

Sure let Trump roll with that and then Cruz can easily make him out to be a self serving political flip-flopper on Hillary and much else.

You mean sort of like the articles posted here from Conservative Review? CR happens to be headed up by CRuz BFF Daniel Horowitz. They seem more like an arm of the CRuz campaign, than a political information site.

At least CTH doesn’t make up biased candidate ‘ratings’.

In 1790

You must be referring to the naturalization act of 1790, which, by the way, only said that children born overseas to American citizens would be treated "as if" they were natural born, not necessarily that they were natural born. This language was removed in an amendment to that act, and was never again seen.

SO, in other words, he was for amnesty before he was against it?

Cruz tried the laugh it off approach with the ‘jump the shark video’ which was pretty funny.

But Trump wouldn’t let it go and forced him to defend it.

“...prominent conservative personalities who have been pretending Trump is a conservative...”

And among those prominent conservative personalities are a helluva lot of FReepers. Four years ago, Trump would’ve been vilified by FReepers for pretending to be a Republican, much less a conservative. Now they can’t get enough of the Kool Aid.

Who woulda thunk?

Keep in mind, Mr. Self-serving political flip flopper Ted Cruz is also relying on liberal interpretations of a "living constitution" to even be eligible. His attack, trying to act as if Trump is the stealth-Hillary candidate, won't be taken seriously by anyone who isn't a raving FR Cruzbot.

” he’s is not conservative on anything but immigration”

....and that is the one reason why I’m likely to vote for Trump. Is that not enough?

I’m a single-issue voter this time. That is the single issue - the only issue that matters at this point in time.

“conservative” is just a word to the GOP. It means nothing, and differentiates nothing.
