Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz is making a three-day campaign lap around the state, with stops in 14 cities.
âI just want to say thank you all for being here. Thank you for standing up. Iâm here asking for your support, asking for your help. We are building a grassroots army,â Cruz said to conclude an appearance at the Windrow restaurant in Creston on Saturday afternoon.
Wally Miller of Creston was there to show his support for Cruz.
âHeâs the only one that makes sense,â Miller said, adding he has a screening test for candidates. âWhen I look at someone, would I trust them with my grandkids or my chores? And I would.â[continued]

Agree...good term - drafting. We’ve been searching for a term to describe Cruz’s approach, as it seems brilliant, at least so far.

My standard has been I wouldn’t vote for someone that I wouldn’t invite to my house for dinner.

Yeah. Drafting, that’s it!

I would prefer to see Cruz take the lead. I don’t think Trump will win the nomination. I see Rubio as the most likely nominee.

I’m not endorsing Rubio. I’m simply saying I consider him more like to get the nomination.

One thing that bugs me: Cruz’s “events” appear to be taking place in little restaurants, small little meeting places, etc.
Watching Trump do rallies with 10K+ numbers of people virtually every day, it’s like I cant’ really call what Cruz is doing “campaigning” or even ‘drafting.’

Slow and steady wins the race.

“Drafting” is a good term for it.

Scott McLain of Creston compared Cruz's positioning in the race to a NASCAR move. "He's drafting right behind the leader at just the right time and right before the Iowa Caucuses then he will go right by the leader on the last lap," McLain said.

Iâm not endorsing Rubio. Iâm simply saying I consider him more like to get the nomination. No way, Rubio is too damaged by amnesty to get the base of the party, and with Jeb Bush around, Fiorina, etc., the establishment vote just can't get behind him 100 percent.
The GOP screwed up, since they designed this election cycle-- complete with a huge number of candidates-- just to split the conservative vote. But Rubio is an abortion of a conservative, and the other candidates do nothing but divide up the retard vote.
To: CrazyIvan
Besides, Trump has a higher IQ than Cruz.
To: Karl Spooner
I’ve met Cruz. He’s off the charts.

In a serious situation, would I trust Cruz or Trump? Trump is out because he doesn’t seem to know what HE is doing or saying any minute of the day and would argue with a Kleenex. Cruz is solid and on top of what is happening every minute - I would trust him.
