The retired neurosurgeon seeking his party's nomination for the White House made these remarks in a 1998 address at Andrews University, a school associated with the Seventh-day Adventist Church, to which he belongs, in a video posted Wednesday on Buzzfeed. The church is a conservative evangelical Christian one.
"My own personal theory is that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain," Carson said.

This is pretty mild as far as pyramidology is concerned.
Charles Taze Russell, founder of Jehovah’s Witnesses, found a lot of mystical prophecies revealed in the Great Pyramid.
I’m not aware of Seventh Day Adventists doing that though.
Why tell me?
No offense.
Ben Carson: Archaeologists Are Wrong, The Pyramids Were Built To Store Grain

None taken but really why tell me?
You were up.
Certainly there were food stores that were maintained in the pyramids to feed the pharaohs in the anticipated afterlife. However, the primary purpose was as a tomb. Sorry, but Ben’ s just got this one wrong.
Oh okay. Sorry about that. Middle of night confusion on my part. Have to agree with you about the Witnesses. They are not the only ones to find prophetic meaning in the pyramid though
Like when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor . . .
Only a fool would think that a comment made fifteen years ago in an area that is irrelevant to the job provides information on Carson’s suitability for the presidency. He’s not one of my top two picks, but his views on the pyramids are irrelevant.
As a believer, I say this is a foolish saying. It is known the Pyramids (a) predate Joseph, (b) were used as burial places, (c) are wholly impractical as granaries, and (d) are nowhere ear the Biblically identified locations for the granaries, which may not be extant, being not necessarily built of stone or preserved.
1. The pyramids took how long to build; decades?
2. Joseph had 7 years of plenty, starting from Day-1 to store up grain; not merely build the storage facilities in which to do it.
3. The pyramids are basically just humongous rockpiles with a few secret passages and small chambers deep inside them. I can’t think of a more inefficient or unhandy structure in which to store grain, or anything else.
I want to like this guy, out of respect for his surgical skills, etc. But it’s looking to me like, when he steps outside the OR, he becomes a numbskull.
TRUMP 2016.
I have always subscribed to the Orion correlation theory of the pyramids, designed and placed to honor Orion, the star constellation, and the Great Pyramid had holes to sight the light from Betelgeuse.
But it is a theory and none of us were there.
Brilliant “Christian” doctor argument aside, believing that *today* is relevant as to his mental acuity.

There is plenty about the ancient world that we do not know and probably never will.
But I am going to go out on a limb here and say that is highly unlikely that Joseph built the pyramids to store grain for the famine described in the book of Genesis.
I climbed on of them "fancy silos" while on vacation in Cancun and taking some of the tours.
Actually, I read yesterday there were areas where pyramids
were used for grain storage.
So after lugging the grain through long, narrow passages, they could storge about 25 cu yards?
Is this a Dukakis, jump the shark moment for Ben?
