A new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll released Sunday shows Carson with 20% support among Republican primary voters nationally, just 1 point below Trump.

Former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina and Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Florida) tied for third in the poll, both grabbing 11%, while former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's (R) support sunk to 7%.

The best candidate is the one who can win. If the nominee cannot win the general election, you get absolutely nothing and it will be your own fault.

There is a concerted media attack on Trump. Media, polls, celebrities day in day out. Remember; "take a lie, make it big enough and repeat it often enough and people will believe you."- Goebbels the genius NAZI Propaganda Minister

"Three weeks of press treatment and the truth is recognized by all."- Oswald Spengler Decline of the West.

The American people are supporting Trump, an outsider. This support is scaring the hell out of those in charge as it threatens their hold on our people, money and our country. The attacks on Trump and his supporters will intensify in maliciousness. If Trump looks like he will really win the elites will treat him as they did old Huey Long.

I hope you're right -- except you midjudge me if you think I'd go into hiding. I'd be happily eating very tasty crow and congratulating you on your well-placed faith in a well-meaning celebrity TV showman.

You are betting all on a crap shoot. Trump's record, his history, his past, all reveal a pro single-payer health plan kinda guy, a guy who really believes that government needs to get involved in a big way (as opposed to Cruz, who believes that government is the problem). Trump is the kind of guy who not very long ago helped to a tune of $25,000 to put sleazy Clinton toadie Terry McAuliffe into the Governor's Mansion in Virginia. Trump was on McAuliffe's side.

And you're gung-ho about voting for the guy.

Listen, I hope you're right ... but I felt exactly the same faith and high hope once in Arnold Schwarzenegger, for about the same reasons. The crow I ate on that one was pretty lousy.

Is it worth it to you to learn how to italicize quoted text? Otherwise everyone has to guess if those are your words or someone else’s.

Cruz has been saying, for ages, the things we've been saying we want done, for ages. And furthermore, Cruz's history shows that he practices what he preaches.

Trump is only now saying such things, and fuzzily. If you want to know what a guy will do, look at what he's done. Trump has zero political compass.

Vote for that at your own risk and heed my tagline.

You don’t understand Trump.

15 years ago when his businesses were facing escalating healthcare costs and he was talking to other major employer in NYC who were making similar complaints, he was lured into thinking Scotland’s healthcare system was an example of what worked right only it didn’t and Donald didn’t know the full story until later.

To understand Donald is to understand that he first expresses his first impression and then as he investigates the details or is properly and more completely briefed and brought up to date, he backtracks and then dispatches managers to come up with a solution.

I look at people criticizing Donald Trump for his short incomplete views of decades ago as criticizing Babe Ruth for swinging and missing only to swat the ball over the homerun fence later.

So try and give Donald a little time to get it right and he will. He’s already demonstrated that ample times on the campaign trail.

I like it that he’s direct and oblivious to PC. I do get concerned when he sometimes gets it wrong but am always patient to wait and see he gets it right. And he’s never failed.

He will be a great President.

Agree about anything from Business Insider. I usually pass over anything from there.

The author of this story was running a college radio station last year, WVAU, which it turns out is not a real radio station since it is online only. Since then interned at Huff Po and Slate. This Business Insider ‘job’ started in April, 2015.

His picture reminds me of my son when he was 8 years old.

In the past I’ve checked out other BI writers. All had this level of experience.

There is just not much to this BI to make me want to read it.

I understand Trump supports the 2nd Amendment ... for what I in my heart think are the wrong reasons. I understand he wants to do away with Planned Parenthood ... for halfway wrong reasons: if it stops abortion, he's all for keeping it! Why? It's just more government employment paid for by citizen slaves for "service" they can provide for themselves.

I understand Trump is a true-blue patriot who wants the best for America; I also understand that managing multi-million dollar business deals and protecting Constitutional rights of Americans are two VERY different things. Further, I think Trump totally fails to recognize it.

I understand Trump is flamboyant, mercurial, privileged (he was born into his wealth and the mindset that built it, though he may have lost and re-earned it multiple times), a great showman, and entertaining.

I understand human nature in projecting their own assumptions and expectations on patriotic well-meaning showmen.

I love all your posts. Please keep up the good work. This is the only opportunity the country has to fluster the elite cabal, in the pockets of rich donors, who want to export middle class manufacturing and service jobs to foreign countries with cheap labor, and to expand import of cheap labor express H1-B visa workers, to maximize their profits.

Result is a ruling class of mega rich, ruling over the vast army of low wage workers. Middle class is disappearing right before our eyes.

No I’m afraid you don’t understand Trump at all.

It’s obvious you fall for what someone SAYS rather than what they DO.

Donald Trump has DONE things quietly, unselfishly, with kindness and great respect. The record of what he’s DONE is proven beyond any doubt.

If you’re seeking someone who SAYS things pleasant to your ears, follow Fiorina, Bush, Graham or Paul. They have great scriptwriters.

I won’t tolerate people that SAY one thing and then DO another.

I’ll take someone that on occasion SAYS the wrong thing but DOES the right thing.

His answer on Afghanistan, during the debate, WAS squishy. Why aren’t people discussing that?

He outlined his idea early on. Back to the market for most of Americans & then something for people who can’t afford it. Probably leave expanded Medicaid. Said we have to cover the poor.

Yeah, you are gonna take healthcare away from US citizen poor? As a conservative, there is nothing more important than building the WALL!! Ending the illegal entry of foreigners & terrorist into this country. Then deport illegals or people who over stayed their visas. These people are using resources that show be available to American citizens.

“There is NOTHING more conservative than stopping a permanent democrat/marxist voting majority and doing whats best for the people and the country. By virtue of Mr.Trump’s position on illegal immigration he “Trumps” all others conservatism.”
