The hour is near
Time to face a New Year
A toast to good health, family, and FRiends dear
A wish for safety, prosperity, laughter, and love
And, many, many thanks! to those serving our Country
and, to the One above.
*******************************
OK, was that mushy? Was it cheesy? Yes! Heartfelt, too.....
And, speaking of "CHEESE" (after all....this is Free Republic : ))
You are cordially invited to the Canteen's
New Year's
: )
So guys and dollz it's time to boogie!
*******************************
HAPPY 2003!
Come on and party!
Please pick up your new CHEESY name tag for the ball HERE
(To "find" your new cheesy name, use the first letter of your first name for your first cheesy name. Use the first letter of your last name for the first part of your last cheesy name, or, your middle cheesy name, and, use the last letter of your last name for your cheesy last name. [Thanks LindaSOG. I tweaked the formula. : )]
For example: The name Hillary Clinton becomes Hereford Hop Curd Nokkelost.)
Hey, if that's too much, just pick a few cheese names and have fun! : )
*******************************
So, everyone LET'S CHEESE ROLL! LET'S CHEESE DIP! AND, LET'S HAVE A CHEESE BALL! : )

Saint-Nectaire Airedale Ile d'Yeu, sounds like it might be snippy about it, checking in to wish all our Canteeners and Military Godspeed and God's protection in the New Year.
I have a cream cheese "cheese ball" recipe:
2- 8 oz. of Cream Cheese (softened)
1- 2 1/2 oz bag of dried beef (usually found by the packaged lunch meat in the grocery)
2- bundles of scallions (green onions, cleaned and chopped)
Chop up all the onion and chop up the dried beef, mix in to the soften cream cheese, form into a ball and chill for an hour or two, serve with crackers and or celery sticks.

If you want some eggnog to go with that cheese, try:
CAPTAIN BUTT'S EGGNOG recipe, c. 1910:
Ten quarts of double cream whipped very stiff
Twelve dozen eggs
Six quarts of Bourbon whisky
One pint of rum.

Hi everybody! A message from redhead. She's in California awaiting the birth of grandbaby #6. She's hoping Santa will bring her kid some memory for his computer so it can play with the big boys. She sends Happy New Year's in Czech: "Vesele novy rok"!
