In the Lutheran church of the German city of Lübeck, on the eve of Christmas, the traditional service was complemented by a performance of a pole dancer. As reported by BILD, the "service," which included a pole performance, was held on December 22, 2025.

At St. Mary's Church in Lübeck, the head of the studio and poledance trainer Anke Kestermann performed immediately after the sermon, showcasing her "art" on the pole.
"Dancer Anke is a deeply spiritual person who has managed to find her unique path," stated the pastor of this church, Inga Meisner.
This performance caused a mixed reaction among believers and a wide public resonance. Such events are becoming part of a strategy to attract new congregants in the face of a mass exodus of believers.
Kestermann explained that her performance aimed not at self-presentation but at demonstrating the courage to be oneself and the desire to rethink the role of the church. However, critics saw in this a problematic mix of entertainment and worship. They emphasize that poledance, regardless of technical execution, is a form of self-expression closely associated with eroticism, which, in their opinion, contradicts the sacred space of the church. The argument that "dance can be a prayer" was dismissed as unsubstantial due to the lack of specific religious reference.
Support from Pastor Inga Meisner
also caused disapproval. Instead of safeguarding the service as a place of concentration and reverence, according to critics, the church seeks attention through provocative actions.
The Germans are some of the most strangest people on the planet. I know, I’m half German, and what church and pole dancing have in common I have no idea, and I’ve never seen a pole dancer with so much clothes on either.
eHem.
Satan’s Antichrist is going to waltz right in
A significant portion of my ancestry is German too.
My Father was German and everyone on his side of the family, is all German. My Grandfather was a bootlegger in Minnesota during prohibition, and also very religious, which makes about as much sense as pole dancing in church. lots of stories there.
Another false teacher in an apostate church.
Sounds blasphemous to me. But if one doesn’t think of God’s House as a sacred place, if according to them. nothing is sacred, there is no outrage, only a detached, intellectual acknowledgement of the event. “It rained today.” And other non sequiturs.
Dancer Anke: A self indulgent show boat, exhibiting Main Character Syndrome. And here I always thought the Main Character in any Christian church must automatically be Jesus Christ. Silly me!
I hope she emits a string of loudly echoing farts during her next burlesque styled performance.
This was also linked to Kaiser Wilhelm's forced merging of the Calvinist and Lutheran churches in Prussia which eroded beliefs and led the way for "Aryan Christianity" - the Nutzi idea of recreating Christianity with Jesus as an Aryan not a Jew (yes, it is as crazy as it sounds). Wilhelm crushed Lutheranism and Calvinism in Prussia and moustache man crushed it further
There’s a “pew” joke in there, somewhere.
It’s good to see MTG has a career after politics.
Marty would be so proud.
Another day, another heretic.
Is the offering for the service mean that you put the money into her G-string? 😀
quite talented ... in bare feet no less ...
The pole dancer is Polish ?
The Divine has a sense of humor.
She now has lots of free advertizing.....will we see her in Vegas?
Sorry, this Lutheran pastor can only preach the Scripture, baptize and offer Communion. He has no ability to conquer the pole and his appearance there would certainly cause mass departure.
