I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone: for kings and all those in authority that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.

Jesus Begins to Preach

When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,
He withdrew to Galilee.

Leaving Nazareth, He went and lived in Capernaum,
which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali—

to fulfill what was said through the prophet Isaiah:

Heavenly Father –

During these evil days, may we reflect on the lamentation of David:

After a few thousand years, especially in light of Fake News, that truth has been born out.

Yet we have the sure foundation that God’s Word is not Fake News. The Gospel is Good News and will stand the test of time:

May we cling to God’s Word—the only Word, the only news—Good News, that cannot be corrupted and reveals the truth, more up to date than tomorrow’s headlines.

May we be filled with the power of the Spirit and the gift of discernment. May we be equipped to discern our enemy and fight the spiritual forces of darkness with the Word of God.

And if it be Your will, Father, save our nation and our people from the Evil One and the Enemy Within.
