Muslims in Burkina Faso celebrated Eid El Fitr on 13 May, marking the end of the fasting month of Ramadan.
They gathered in the capital Ouagadougou at the Place de Nation for prayer.
Despite the Ascension which was celebrated on the same day, Cardinal Philipe Ouédraogo, 76, attended the Eid El Fitr prayer, thus showing the “solidarity” of the Church to the Muslim community, Burkina24.com (May 13) writes.
"We are happy to express our best wishes to our Muslim brothers and sisters," Ouédraogo said. For him, "what belongs to the pond belongs to the cayman" (meaning: your joy is our joy). With these words, the Cardinal expressed believes “that Ramadan is the feast of everyone.”
“We are children of the same house," Ouédraogo said.

All this wonderful tolerance... too bad it only flows one way. If the muzzies had the power, they would decapitate us all.
No, cardinal. No it isn’t. And you violate the tenets of your own faith by saying so.

Ramadam is a joke. All they do is reverse day for night. Gorge themselves all night long then sleep all day long. Want to buy a car at three AM during Ramadan? No problem. They used to warn us infidels ... don't be seen drinking a Coke or water or having a smoke during daylight hours during this .... fest. Behind the walls of the compound okay but not on the street.
You can be friends with some of them. But don’t mix religions.
Wow, are they expecting us to go out and kill people like the Islamic Cult?
During Ramadan especially, the Muslim faithful pray 5 times during the daytime, facing east towards Mecca, but revere the moon.
The Ramadan ritual involves fasting from food and water during the daytime, from sunrise to sun set, but ends with 'Eid' for three days of copious eating, anytime.
Ramadan just ended on this last Thursday.
So unless you stay at a western hotel, as I’m sure you know, you really can’t find much alcohol over there. So from time to time (in my youth) I would cross over to Israel, load a suitcase full of booze, and bring it back. That was permissible. I didn’t sell it of course. But I would “give” it as gifts. Not formally, since that would be an insult. I would just leave it somewhere and say “I left something, if you want it, you can have it. If not give it to someone who does or throw it away”. Made many friends that way.
I still recall, decades later, hearing their drunken laughter at night from down the street.
The friends I made would even introduce me to the hot western girls new in town ;-)
Many moons ago, single, young...
I think he prefers “Your Grace” or “Your Eminence”.
Oh Crap, I still don’t have my tree up!
Cardinal has head in a$$
This is just one of the reasons the Catholic church will be left behind.
“Ramadan Is Everyone’s Holiday”
Not mine, you flaming rectal opening!
That day when the half blind elderly Swan kissed a Vampire by mistake.

The very least followers of Francis could be doing is besides raising theological questions on the assertions made in the Islamic codex (which is their code of observance and behavior) known as Sharia, and be defending the Chinese Catholics and those attacked and killed by moslems.
While they Ignore this

They also ignore what Our Savior went through to establish the new covenant , Then Play with suppressors of the faith
Buulcrap.
They party and pig out every night. What kind of fast is that? Hell...We call it a work day....and skipping lunch.
It seems to be really drastic. No food or drink from sunrise to sunset.
Then eating the whole night.
Whole month.
I summer, in hot areas of Arabia and Africa, no water the whole day seems deadly to me.
Ramadan has been blamed for the backward economies of Muslim countries as it practically takes a month out of the year of economic activity. Very little gets done during Ramadan.
Nowadays, a lot of moderate Muslims do break it quite regularly, but rather secretly, as they may be trashed by the zealots.
