Last night, my sister said she saw something on FB about my cousin losing her son. There was no other info, and so, the first thing this morning, I sent out this email:
Dear Diane,
As you may know, I am not on facebook or twitter, so I get a lot of my information second-hand or not at all.
I heard last night that you have recently suffered a terrible loss. I don't know if it is a rumor or not. Please let me know how you are doing.

Love,

Here was her reply:
Hi MaryLou. Yes we lost our son Peter unexpectedly on Friday. We are all so devastated. Only our faith and love from family and friends gets us through. Thank you so much for reaching out. I appreciate any prayers you can pray. Love you
Here was my reply:
Oh my dear Diane, I am SO SORRY. Here I was, merrily sending out my daily stories, and I didn't even know. I remember when I lost my husband, the phone was ringing off the hook and I had a hard time having to explain over and over, so I was very careful about reaching out, and prayed that I used the right words. I know in my heart that you are a person of Faith, and that you know that "This world is not our home", yet the pain and loss can't be measured. When you are able, please feel free to call me.
In the meantime, I will lift you and your family up in prayer, and ask my prayer warriors on Free Republic to do the same.
May Our Beloved Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comfort you during this time of devastating loss.

Love
Mary-Lou

That is all the information I have, and all I can share with you, but God knows the situation. Please join me in prayer for this situation, and please resist the temptation to speculate, as I must do as well. We don't need any more info than the knowledge that one of us is in need of prayer. Please join me.
Thank you, fieldmarshaldj, for your kind prayers.

Most certainly your family is lifted in prayer. There can be no grief bigger than losing a child.

Praying...
God keep you.
It was so kind of you to post this for your family.
Prayers for comfort from here.
May the God of love and peace be with Diane and her family. Lord God, Your arms are the comfort they need right now. Thank You for Your great love for them in their time of sorrow. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
I am fully aware of the pain felt when losing a son unexpectedly. There are no words that can describe it.
My heart felt prayers to your cousin and her family during this time. The sorrow will not go away quickly. It will take years to reach a ‘new normal’ where every breathing moment is not encased in sorrow over the loss and devastation.
My prayers for comfort and peace during this time extend to YOU as well during these trying times. In Jesus’ name.
Prayers for Diane and her family and all those who loved her son.
Praying for your cousin and her family during their terrible loss.
Father, please hold and comfort this family. I ask in Jesus’ Holy Name. Amen.
Prayers for your cousin and family.
Oh dear Mary Lou...
I am so sorry for your cousin’s loss of her son suddenly on Friday.
Please rest assured I am praying that our Heavenly Father , who is The God of all comfort, will wrap His Arms around your cousin Dianne and family at this time.
In Christ alone we have our hope,
Polly
I will keep your cousin and her family in my prayers. May the Lord bless and comfort them now, and in the days ahead.
RIP. This was written about WWI soldiers, but is relevant to people we’ve known in their prime. We should strive to remember them as they were before on onset of the cares and wants of infirmity, so that:
“They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old;
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.”
Dear Heavenly Father,
Please bring healing and strength to all of Peter’s loved ones. Heal them in heart and in spirit, let them feel Your Loving Presence, and comfort them with the sure knowledge of resurrection and eternal life.
In Jesus’ Name,
Amen
So sorry to hear of the loss of your family member .
Prayers up for all.
Prayers sent for God’s hand of comfort on Diane and your whole family!
