So it must have been quite a shock to his viewers many of whom, perhaps, have supported his ministry for years by sending him money to hear him say earlier this week:
Hinn: " I'm sorry to say that prosperity has gone a little crazy and I'm correcting my own theology . And I will tell you now something that is going to shock you: I think it's an offense to the Lord, it's an offense to say give a thousand dollars. I think it's an offense to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the gospel. I'm done with it. I will never again ask you to give a thousand [dollars] or whatever amount because I think the Holy Ghost is just fed up with it."
Christian apologist and author Dr. Alex McFarland calls Hinn's decision "an amazing theological turn by one of the leaders of the Charismatic movement, televangelism and the prosperity gospel for several decades."

People in my sphere of influence know about them.
Thank you, stars & stripes forever, for sharing that very interesting anecdote.
Please ignore the harassment from ifinnegan. Ifinnegan is a troll and a fool who has criticized you both for sharing this story and for not sharing it enough to meet his standard. Ifinnegan has his own personal theology and set of rules, and none of us will satisfy the laws he has established for all of us.
>> Can you imagine the Apostle saying the above. Paul gave all credit and honor to God. I listened to the video. It is still all about me and I. Maybe my ears are too critical.<<
Yes, they are too critical. His bad theology is his alone. But he does talk much about the Holy Spirit in his “conversion.”
I don't but I do vaguely remember his son Garner Ted Armstrong.....
Oh honey; you must remember a time LONG ago!
But he does talk much about the Holy Spirit in his conversion.
But he “talked much about the Holy Spirit” in his bad theology too, so that is not much of an arguing point.
What is a Word of Knowledge?
In Christianity, the word of knowledge is a spiritual gift listed in 1 Corinthians 12:8. It has been associated with the ability to teach the faith, but also with forms of revelation similar to prophecy. It is closely related to another spiritual gift, the word of wisdom.

Indeed. Recanting heresy is a good first step. But true repentance goes beyond that. It involves a fundamental change in one’s life. Ultimately of course, it’s not my place to judge his soul. But he has done a lot of harm through his false teachings over the years and if he really means what he has said, then we will see some fairly dramatic lifestyle changes.
“Ifinnegan is a troll and a fool “
You have to resort to insults to support Binny Hinn who has the spirit of anti-Christ.
Why?
Do you really believe Benny Hinn heals people? That he is not 100% fake?
1Cor4:10. We are fools for Christ’s sake
“People in my sphere of influence know about them.”
Your sphere of influence?
People who know me through my ministries. God bless you. Get in the Word to build your faith.
You don’t buy that Benny Hinn is a faith healer and can wave at people and knock them down with some sort of supernatural power, do you?
Hinn is a fraud. He is not changing anything except the way he dupes the fragile. He is of the antichrist spirit.
Well, if he were sincere, he’d delete and never again post any of his old teachings prior to the admission.
As it currently is now, he hasn’t.
They have records. Accounting is very important to large groups concerning money. Who to trust becomes an issue.
The Accountants will have info and they should return the donations directly to those who gave them because many are in financial dire straits themselves. They need the money.
As for Hinn, I have not watched him in years. We did attend a conference in Phoenix many years ago. It was wonderful because of the Body of Christ presence. Wherever 2 or more are gathered in His name comes to mind.
I’m not certain it was Hinn, so much as it was the gathering of believers. The Presence of the Lord was strong.
I began to disagree with him over interpretations. I simply stopped following him over time. That money bit always rubbed me the wrong way. I know of people who borrowed thousands because of his financial pronouncements.
While it is true that the Lord does bless givers, it is not true that He will always honor giving without due dilligence. He does not honor thieves.
The Lord looks upon the heart of the giver. Those who give to Him are blessed. Those who give out of wrong desire or wrong spirit are not blessed.
The giving of the tithe was meant to keep the Pastor in the middle income of the church. Large church, larger gain for the Pastor, but I doubt that the Lord meant multi-millions. If more was given, I suggest it was for aiding in the spreading of the Word to unbelievers, not for private planes, private yachts, etc. So much need in this world. Of course, planes are needed to bring aid for the needy. I’m not referring to those actions, but to personal pleasure crafts. A boat is one thing. A yacht is another. Spirit led makes the difference. Doing His will is essential.
They will answer to the Lord who is the Judge. If their actions were Spirit led, all is good. If their actions were of a wrong spirit, the Lord will hold them accountable. I’ve seen that happen over my lifetime.
My husband and I were in SC @ PTL group to apply for a position my husband was well qualified for. We camped
in the campground there. What we saw was eye opening.
That mega-barn was full of items given to help the needy. The problem was, the needy could only take certaib items, the rest was for show for the elites. The food bank was another. People were given a small bag. I watched a family of 5 given a can of soup, 1 candy bar, a bag of grits and 2 canned vegetables. What good is that for a family of 5?
Needless to say, we got out of there. We did see the Lord judge PTL and He found them wanting. Poof! They were gone. We observed that the Lord will give wrong doers a period of time to repent. If they do not, He will destroy them.
It becomes obscene when so called Pastors become hucksters. That is sin. If our actions are not Spirit led, they will come to naught.
They need to get back to preaching the Word of God, as led by the Holy Spirit. Then the blessing will come as He is uplifted.
