Benny Hinn: 'I'm done with it'

So it must have been quite a shock to his viewers – many of whom, perhaps, have supported his ministry for years by sending him money – to hear him say earlier this week:

Hinn: "… I'm sorry to say that prosperity has gone a little crazy – and I'm correcting my own theology …. And I will tell you now something that is going to shock you: I think it's an offense to the Lord, it's an offense to say give a thousand dollars. I think it's an offense to the Holy Spirit to place a price on the gospel. I'm done with it. I will never again ask you to give a thousand [dollars] or whatever amount because I think the Holy Ghost is just fed up with it."

Christian apologist and author Dr. Alex McFarland calls Hinn's decision "an amazing theological turn by one of the leaders of the Charismatic movement, televangelism and the prosperity gospel for several decades."

He didn’t have control of his eye muscle. It was so sad when it happened. But thankfully he is healed.

Wow — he has his own theology and thinks the Holy Spirit is OK with something for a while and then finally gets fed up with it? LOL

As documented in BENNY HINN: TRUE OR FALSE ?, Hinn indeed preached a pro$perity gospel, along with many others, as well as false prophecy.

Heard of him, but I don’t know anything about him. Listening now...

That does not mean he did not have a gift, which even Balaam had, or was no sincere, his errors were clear and substantial, and needed to be exposed and reproved for the Truth's sake.

There’s a verse about Hinn and his ilk.

I’m sure you know it. Matt 7:22,23

“Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

So now you’re backing down.

“The healing were documented by their doctor.”

That sounds great, but. Details. All this is is gossip.

If you are serious. When was the accident. Where. Who was the doctor? How was he diagnosed? X-rays, scans, photos etc...

Then after healing? Same questions. Physical evidence. Statement by doctor.

Anyone who was miraculously healed or privy to one who does not document or validate in such a way is a poor steward and witness.

So, please look in to this and show the world.

I have a friend whose grandson was hit by a car and suffered a detached eye and brain damage. The little brother insisted his brother would be healed at a Benny Hinn crusade, so the grandmother, the mother and her two sons went to a crusade in Iowa. They sat on the second row. Benny Hinn had a Word of Knowledge during his sermon. He said someone is being healed of an eye condition. The boy's eye snapped into place. Then later in the service he was also healed of the brain injury. In fact the Holy Spirit touch every member of the family. My friend was healed of a back injury, the little brother was healed of a heart murmur, and the mother became a poet. I saw my friend the other day and asked if her family was still healed. She smiled and said, "Yes." God is a giver of gifts. He doesn't take them away. A good example is Samson, who did not live up to the standard of a Nazarite, but still regained his strength when his hair grew back.

Then praise God, though medical records would help, while charism does not equal character. David Wilkerson told of a gifted evangelism who was also a drunk.

Correct. GOD gave BENNY the gift of healing.

The fact that he put in a fake show to con money means he does not have a gift.

I remember when his magic didn’t work. It’s in an old Philipino who didn’t understand English. He didn’t get that he was supposed to pretend to collapse when Hinn waved at him. He just stood there and grinned.

I'd give you the gal's phone #, but this is an anonymous site. The accident happened around 30 years ago. I imagine my friend documented it.

My own family has seen miracles, including instant healings of a brain tumor, 90% blockage in the heart, broken leg, Crohn's disease. Many of my friends have been healed.

I wish what you are saying were true.

It would be the greatest witness, in theory.

But all these are stories of lights put under a basket, if true.

It was diagnosed via a CATSCAN in one hospital and disappeared between 2 MRIs in another hospital.

The heart blockage disappeared during a stress test.
