Swimming against the tide of promises to crack down on abuse and cover-up led by Pope Francis, a newly created Mexican cardinal said that some accusers should be ashamed to point their finger at clerics because many of them have skeletons in their own closets.
The victims of pedophilia who accuse men of the Church should [be careful] because they have long tails that are easily stepped on, said Cardinal Sergio Obeso Rivera.
The cardinal, emeritus Archbishop of Xalapa, in Veracruz, Mexico, spoke to journalists before a celebration he led in his former diocese.

In truth it was the Irish monks that introduced the private confessionals centuries ago.

Sounds like a threat to me. Intimidation and blackmail have been the calling cards of the lavender mafia that has entrenched itself within the Church. If the Vatican won’t move against prelates like this, the laity need to. And by that I mean public protests, the hiring of private investigators to tail these creeps and gather evidence against them, and endless demands to the Vatican to replace the derelict shepherd.

but the rot is not the Church.
church has many different meanings and connotations. Because of this there is confusion.
Some have used the visible and invisible church to distinguish
Liberals water down and blur every word they use.

the Church is deathly afraid to stand against modern society.
Not the Church. The Jesuits and other heretics within the Church who have managed to worm their way into positions of power. There are plenty of Catholics, bishops, priests, and laity, who are willing to stand against modern evils. In fact, we are the majority if not the vast majority. We are being held hostage by the Vatican at the moment--God knows why. He will act in His good time.

I am afraid that this institution is just organized crime. It is time for outside investigation. Yeah, lets put the DOJ and FBI right on that. 😏

Catholics still do that before most Masses:
I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned, in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God

>>They don't hide their faggotry at all.<<
At least families can see the landscape before walking toward the vipers pit unlike the catholic church who's leadership worked overtime to hide and deceive families right on into the hands of homosexual priest/bishops/cardinals...and maybe even a pope or two...having their young children fall prey to hundreds if not thousands of homosexual predators...all hidden behind a vale.
Good grief man!

I left this church. Because of toilet scum.
If more people had stayed and fought, the job would be a lot less arduous for those of us still in the fight. Personally, I won't let the actions of evil people chase me out of the Church founded by Jesus Christ.

Jesus’s Church is BOTH THE BIBLE AND SACRAMENTS as it ought to be.
House cleaning in order.

Henry VIII was frigging on to something...
Henry VIII would have loved this Cardinal. He used the same tactics except he had the power to inflict physical violence on any who resisted.

Yes we stayers are wallowing in toilet scum. But the leavers are wallowing in the void of the lack of graces found only in the reception of the Sacrament of the Eucharist which is the Real Presence, body and blood ,soul and divinity of the Lord, Jesus Christ.
Leaving that and the truly great priests in the Church is a deadly price to pay.
We can clean out the toilet scum.

Honestly, I don't trust the DAs and AGs any more than I trust the Church hierarchy.
There's a good reason for that. One of the first high-profile lawsuits involving priests abusing children was in New Orleans about 30 years ago. During the course of the civil lawsuit related to the matter it was revealed that the district attorney had helped the diocese sweep the whole thing under the rug.
The DA's name was Harry Connick Sr. -- the father of Harry Connick Jr.
