He cited an online post he had seen from a 17-year-old gay Catholic. "The church has a lot to say about what I'm not supposed to do," the youth wrote. "But ... I couldn't find any church document (about) what a gay person is supposed to do with his life. I feel abandoned by the church."
He said the church teaches much about the beauty of marriage, but then tells its gay members they "can't have this wonderful thing."

> Gotta give the queers credit. They are very determined to shove their queerness in our faces.
I don’t think its queerness they want to shove in our faces...
The answer you/we seek is within the Holy Bible. Our flesh always want to look to every other place, but the Bible has the answers. We are to Believe, Preach, and Spread the Good News/Gospel of Jesus Christ! Our job isn’t to assure(convert them) their Salvation, but to show them the way. The Holy Spirit then takes over and does all the convicting.
I know as human flesh we want to put our hands in there and add some special human touch, but it hasn’t worked nor will it. If the Church (all of us) was doing our job and Evangelizing in every environment they couldn’t escape the words of Christ thus the Holy Spirit’s conviction.
Instead we have chose to be fat and lazy and God stays in building much like a wild critter and is always caged and then we wonder why he isn’t heard. We are his mouth, eyes, feet, and hands to the world.
Now get off your butt and do something a little or a lot, but something! All to his GLORY!!!
Sorry, but I will respectfully disagree. It’s not a mental illness that would imply possible human cures. It’s Transgression/Inequity and the only cure is the Holy Scripture leading them to Jesus Christ.
Good points, but the gay mafia will have us believe that they abuse alcohol/drugs and kill themselves because of our antiquated views of their activities. The truth is that they know they are “defective” (anyone with eyes can tell something is wrong with people who have “relations” in that manner), and no amount of accepting/condoning their acts will fix that.
>> “But ... I couldn’t find any church document (about) what a gay person is supposed to do with his life. I feel abandoned by the church.”
Such is the consequence for abandoning reason.
>> the only cure is the Holy Scripture leading them to Jesus Christ.
Am I better or worse for objecting to homosexuality by virtue of instinct?
There is a reason why we do not evangelize and it is sum up in one word: FEAR.
“...Christ is the answer for them just like He is for every one.”
Indeed.
AMEN!
The answer is always the same, isn’t it? To be salt and light, as per Matthew 5.
The same way I deal with other behaviors the Lord hates, namely, hands that shed innocent blood (women who have killed their own children via abortion), a lying tongue (politicians and the unsaved), sowing discord (the gossiping neighbor), etc..
Anyone who is born again of the Spirit of God, a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ as Redeemer, has the Holy Ghost dwelling inside them. And that is what causes us to hate these things as well.
To be salt and light, and to speak boldly (Paul, Eph 6:20), as we ought to speak.
There is a difference between an individual homosexual, and the homosexual agenda, I’m sure you know. The indoctrination in schools, the subtle messages to children in cartoons and internet games, and popular culture all work to corrupt our youth. It’s the agenda that needs to be handled with a firm and uncompromising hand.
And don’t forget that the real purpose of homosexual marriage is to clear the way for massive and unrestricted pedopheliia. So to condone ‘marriage equality’, or to appear to condone it, is in a very real sense putting our goo, normal children at great risk.
goo should be ‘good’.
You're making excellent points here, Michael, in the above quote and in fact your whole post.
How do you deal pastorally with individuals and little suffering families whose lives are blighted with painful, distorting disorders, and yet speak and act with sufficient severity against "The Agenda" and the malign Masters of that Agenda (whose power emanates, ultimately, from Hell, to which It draws Its victims?)
I's very tough. And so many millions are misled. How hard we must pray!
Pray, observe, judge, act.
I’ll start by saying that the little voice you call your instinct is actually the Holy Spirit of God trying to open a dialogue with you. As far as better or worse there’s good news and bad news.
Bad news is that you haven’t recognized the Spirit’s voice yet. Good news is that you are still responding to the Spirit whether you truly understand it or not.
Better unless you never accept Jesus and die in sin.
Mark 3:28-30 King James Version (KJV)
28 Verily I say unto you, All sins shall be forgiven unto the sons of men, and blasphemies wherewith soever they shall blaspheme:
29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.
30 Because they said, He hath an unclean spirit.
You bet and Satan knows that and uses it to his full advantage.
From the research I read, homosexuality is a choice that males/females make sometime in their early to mid-teens. At that age I don't believe that they can make sane choices anyway.
No one can figure out WHAT triggers that choice and why more males SEEM to choose it than females.
However, after years of research, the final word is that there are no gay, bisexual or non-sexual genes. It IS a choice. We are all built for heterosexuality, though trying to explain that to homosexuals is impossible.
1. Excellent description.
2. That has USUALLY been the role of the father, rather, "Dad," hasn't it? Maybe daddies and dads are just obsolete in our sad society.
Or, as Pope Benedict would have it: moral relativism.
3. Yep, all the way through from birth to death.
Way to say it, Mrs. Don-o. I ignore the Catholic bashers gainsayers. Thanks anyway!
What IS so good is that Pope Francis DOES put those disorders in the terms of familial detriment, which, of course, they are.
The family STILL is the basic unit of society; maybe not here in the USA, but in most parts of the world it still is.
I do know (from reading, of course) that the black African families IN AFRICA are solid and paternal, that is, 180° different from the black American families here. Same race but totally different outcomes after all those generations.
MOST black folks here do purport to be good Christians. If that's so, then why all the out-of-wedlock births, or six children from six different fathers and MAYBE or maybe NOT a wedding for any of them? Does that sound hypocritical odd or what?
Of course, babies out of wedlock isn't just a sin of one group of people. TOO MANY females in America do that. It usually, but not always, DOOMS the children to a large extent. And, it may just keep repeating itself forever!
YEP and I remember the old Hollywood movie "The Gay Caballero." :o)
Are we old or what?
Thank you for your kind reply.
It’s not wrong to have homosexual inclinations; it’s only wrong to act upon those inclinations.
Some people have overcome homosexual inclinations, and go straight. If he tries, and can’t do that, he can live his life as a happy single person. He can find a job he loves, do charitable work, etc., just like heterosexuals do.
