Protestants opposed contraception until the 1930 Lambeth Conference. After this, positions changed. So, did the Bible change, or did they?
Which one are you not clear about? Onan spilled his seed outside of the conjugal bed and in NFP there is no marriage act. Sa,l;l children could understand the difference. I am continuing to pray that the Holy Spirit speaks to you....soon.
You can't speak for the "whole world" can you, mlizzy? I'd be willing to bet that if another newbie posted regular threads based upon his blog called "Answering Catholics", intending to educate his readers, that there would be regular and LOUD complaints coming from the FRoman Catholic contingent here. Anyone objective can see the angle being played. That I commented on it is what seems to have rubbed a nerve and not necessarily the content of my post. It is typical.
You can't speak for the "whole world" can you, mlizzy?Ha! You can't get rid of that "wise guy" commentary thing, can you?
IF all Catholics were prohibited from voting we would have an anti abortion President right now...
“IF all Catholics were prohibited from voting we would have an anti abortion President right now...”
No, you wouldn’t.
Your religion has rules against contraception and abortion...But all Catholic baby killers are Catholics in good standing with your religion...Even its clergy...No doubt you have pro abortion cardinals...What happens when one of these cardinals becomes a pope???
How many kids you got???
When protestants can't defend a position they must attack a Catholic belief.
I am praying that Jesus comes into your heart.... soon.
My only child passed away 15 years ago and we were unable to have any more, Any more stupid personal questions?
Well, the holiest Protestant in the world cannot match up to the strongest Catholic, and while all Catholics know why that is, it must be frustrating for a Protestant as they do not understand or believe in the Real Presence. I thank God every day that I listened to my heart (of was it His heart?!) when I was first introduced to the faith.
Protestants don't consider ourselves Holy. We realize we are sinners pulled out of the mire by God. The above is Papist claptrap.
I am praying that Jesus comes into your heart.
FOTFLOL!!!!!
Projection is grand......
Assuming conjecture is "fact" is the low - though it's not new, especially here. I don't need to mind read to state empirically that the threads posted by matthewrobertolson have been in support of his stated intention to "Answering Protestants" and, with these "answers", prove that only the Roman Catholic Church is the one, true, church to which ALL Christians must join. That I called him on this ploy - that of concluding anyone who is pro-life MUST leave their church for the RCC - is what is being disputed rather than the TRUTH that many "Protestant" churches are every bit as pro-life as the Catholic Church proclaims it is. Evangelical "assemblies" (because that really IS what a church means) have been at the forefront of Right to Life organizations, Crisis Pregnancy Centers, post-abortion counseling groups and homes for unwed pregnant women. It wouldn't be smart to presume ONLY the RCC is doing that - in fact, it would be a ruse. Like I said:
It's an attempt to persuade them that ONLY the Roman Catholic Church has consistency on this subject (though only a minority actually follows the church's dictates) and that this one issue is enough to conclude that it must be right about everything else. We know that is false and will not fall for such a blatant ruse.
While you may not think you can achieve any type of holiness, I had one of the holiest Lutheran ladies ever, live next to me for decades; in fact, she sort of raised me. But Catholics have some 10,000 saints to try to emulate. And they, indeed, were holy, incredible role models for the faith.
Sorry, metmom, but I see it right here just on Free Republic’s forum boards alone. I know Free Republic does not like things to get personal, so via a private mail, if you’re interested, name me a consistently polite, non-sarcastic, non-knee-jerking, non-cynical, non badgering Protestant that posts here, and I’ll come back and name two Catholics for every one of your Protestants.
