Prayerathon to aid my sister, Libby, aka Double Umbrella in her glorious leap into our Lord and Savior's arms.
Libby was a long time, passionate lurker on Free Republic. She read every political thread from beginning to end.She knew many of you in depth even though you didn't know she was there.
You gave her great delight, intellectual stimulation and hope for the future. That such fine people had a gathering place was a delight to her.
She was an avid Tea Partier and participated in person locally through the whole health care debacle.
She was a Renaissance woman, artist, pianist, nurse. She read voraciously, especially things political.
She joined under the name of Double Umbrella but her posting history is limited to just 1 post. Glioblastoma took her language skills. She always understood but the ability to speak coherently was taken from her.
She has fought the good fight, she stayed active through therapy going to church and bible studies until a stroke took her right side and locked her in.
Her earthly race is run, she is still minimally responsive but her ability to swallow is gone. She still opens her eyes with a kiss to the brow or cheek but she mostly peacefully sleeps.
Please participate in praying her across to eternity and into the loving arms of Jesus.
Prayers to your sister Libby as she enters the Kingdom of God. God Bless you and your family.
O Lord,
support us all the day long of this troubled life,
until the shadows lengthen and the evening comes and the busy world is hushed,
the fever of life is over and our work is done.
Then, Lord, in your mercy,
grant us a safe lodging,
and a holy rest,
and peace at the last,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.
AMEN.
Prayers for her to be at peace.
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Dear God bless those who mourn, and comfort them with Jesus. Amen
May God hold her in the hollow of His Hand forever.
RIP Libby. May GOD have mercy on your everlasting soul.
Oh I am so very sorry to read of the ordeal your poor sister has endured and how very difficult it must have been and still is to watch her as just a shell of her former self.
No easy answers and no magic words. Just letting you know warm and loving thoughts are coming to you from Oklahoma and that your sisters transition to her life with the Lord will be gentle on all of you.
Hugs hon

Amazing Grace Lyrics
John Newton (1725-1807)
Stanza 6 anon.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear.
And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares
I have already come;
‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far
and Grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me.
His word my hope secures.
He will my shield and portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
When we’ve been here ten thousand years
Bright shining as the sun.
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’ve first begun.
Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.
Prayers for Libby and for you.... go with the angels, dear Libby.
Prayers up for Libby and family. Peace be with you.
You and your family are in my prayers tonight. God, please receive Libby warmly and give her family comfort.
Fair winds and following seas, Double Umbrella.
Timothy, 4:7. Saying Hail Marys.
Prayers sent for Libby, you and your family. I went through this just recently and understand just what you are enduring. May God comfort you.
