American Churches To Embrace 'Chrislam' On June 26, 2011
NowTheEndBegins ^ | June 23. 2011

NTEB has reported extensively on the growing Chrislam movement. Started by Rick Warren of Saddleback Church, it has grown dramatically and now has infected many hundreds of churches and denominations all across America. A group called Faith Shared is now spearheading the move to merge Christianity with Islam, and in the process provoking the very judgment of God down upon us as a nation. The following is taken directly from their website:

“Faith Shared asks houses of worship across the country to organize events involving clergy reading from each other’s sacred texts. An example would be a Christian Minister, Jewish Rabbi and Muslim Imam participating in a worship service or other event. Suggested readings will be provided from the Torah, the Gospels, and the Qur’an, but communities are encouraged to choose readings that will resonate with their congregations. Involvement of members from the Muslim community is key. We will also provide suggestions on how to incorporate this program into your regular worship services. And we will assist local congregations in their media and communications efforts.

Getting close to islam is just wrong and unacceptable but why the need to “share” scriptures between various Christian and Jewish religions? We know what the different religions believe and we respect people’s religious convictions so why is it necessary to always be trying to show how much we care about people of other faiths? What do these people have to keep proving to themselves? Christian denominations and Jews can work together in the community as neighbors, on the job and doing charitable work without having to go to each others houses of worship to show how much they love each other. They can do this in any number of ways throughout their communities.

Another “Whew”
No Catholic Churches at all involved in this. See the above posts — I checked them out. Most of the ones that sound like Catholic Churches are Episcopal churches.

Should bring some more Episcopalians and Anglicans to the Catholic Church!

there is only ONE God, whether you are Christian, Jew, Muslim or athiest. Catholics teach and believe this ONE God is three persons, the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. Muslims reject the Trinity, and of course, the divinity of JESUS. So, the Muslim god is not the God worshipped by Catholics.

I think we are on the same side here — against Islam. I was pointing out that the Sacred Book in the picutre with Blessed John Paul II was NOT the Koran.

My mistake. But the people who go to those churches are mostly liberals who want to get warm fuzzies when they go to church, not the plain truth that there is only ONE way to heaven.

>> I think we are on the same side here — against Islam.<<

What I’m trying to convey is that we need to be vigilant what ever organized religion we may belong to. The interfaith dialogue is not restricted to any particular one. We can no longer assume “our church” is not at risk. It seems to me that all are.

The Pope receiving the mark of Shiva.

The “interfaith dialogue has crept into every denomination and religion apparently.

There will be no “interfaith dialogue” in my life.

2 John 1:9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.

There was one in Longmont, CO that was like that. Had Catholic Ecumenical in the title. When I looked at their site they had a woman assistant pastor.....instantly — not Catholic!

No harm done. A lot of Episcopal Churches have names similar to Catholic Churches.

Here in my little town we have

“Our Savior’s Luteran”
“Good Shepherd Lutheran”
“St. Paul Episcopal”
“Holy Cross Episcopal”
“St. Mark Lutheran”

And there are others — those just come to mind from my floppy disk brain.

The truth on the Mark of Shiva thing.

"Q: Someone in the schismatic group the Society of St. Pius X told me that when the pope was in India he had his forehead anointed by a Hindu 'priestess of Shiva' and that there is a photo to prove it. Is this true?

"A: There is a photo of the pope having his forehead anointed by an Indian woman, but she was a Catholic, not a Hindu priestess! She was giving a traditional Indian form of greeting known as 'Aarti,' which has no more religious significance than a handshake in western culture or giving someone a wreath of flowers as a welcome in Hawaii.

Glad to see I wasn’t the only one who thought of “The Last Battle” when reading this thread.......Lewis seems rather prophetic at the moment.

The Catholic diocese here is the Diocese of Burlington. The Episcopalian diocese is the Diocese of Vermont.

We have a good and faithful bishop in Salvatore Matano who would not get involved with this.

Given that they (lds) have been partnering with islam for nearly a decade and that they are already joining together to share their beliefs, it would be more of a surprise that they don't. There have been articles from lds publications marveling how similar islam and mormonISM are.
