Why did Archbishop Fulton Sheen predict that Mary would be the key to reconciling the faiths of Rome and Mecca?
///
a) ANY Catholic would pray that ALL Muslims become Christians.
that remark could easily be interpreted in that context.
b) if not, then again, Fulton IS a mortal man, and capable of error.
c) again, can’t we stop sniping at our fellow Christians, and have some Christian unity against true evil ? against the true religion of Satan himself ?
...i hate the cliche of “WWJD”, but really, would he approve of snarky commments and “telling” points?
or would he embrace ALL who believe in him, and preach in his name, and say “Jesus is Lord !”
???

It certainly won’t happen at our Baptist church, either.
To: CynicalBear
That was the last Pope.
Benedict doesn’t condone this “Chrislam” crap.

I’m waiting to see how the LDS deal with this invitation.

I think Warren is in love with his own reflected image in the mirror.

Yah, I didn’t think about that, the impression seems to be that the moslems are always going into the Christian churches but are Christian leaders allowed to go into the oh-so-holy moslem mosque? I doubt it, since the infidel is unclean.

Thanks for the background information. I get so tired of them posting the misguided information

Muslims know how to butter people up... it's a cultural thing. Rick Warren might be susceptible to that...

It’s all about the kumbaya, feel good, Woodstock kind of feeling. Are these people on pot?

Yeah right. Then you find this on Catholic sites.
Islam: What Catholics Should Know
I was privileged to be present when an imam showed us the inflections he had learned, and, as he moved through the recitive, I was reminded of our Gregorian chant, which also has its pauses, inflections and distinctive rhythm and premodern notation based on the range of the human voice with no accompaniment. I am struck by the absolute grasp of and reverence for the Quran communicated by Muslims. The name Allah, after all, is simply the Arabic word for God, the one God of Judaism, Christianity and Islam.

North American Old Catholic Church, Washington, DC
from Our Lady's warriors>dissent>organizations
American Old Catholic Church |
This group directly states their differences from being real Catholics. They:
- do not accept the teaching of papal infallibility
- claim independence of the pope
- refuse to be bound by some of the canon laws and regulations
- permit priests and bishops to marry
- encourage women to be ministers of the church (priestesses)
- allow divorced but not annulled people who remarry to participate in the sacraments
- allow artificial contraception
- invite all baptized Christians to the sacraments, regardless of the state of their souls (i.e. mortal sins, many of which are listed above) thus encouraging sacrilege
