9000 Priests in Rome!
from 91 countries!
Prayer Ping for Pope Benedict and all these priests!
A few of the priests from my diocese are there, too (not as official reps, because our bishop hates the Motu Propio and is none too fond of this Pope). However, they went on their own because they have been very inspired by this Year of the Priest.
That’s wonderful. Is your bishop due to retire soon?
Meanwhile, prayers for a deeper conversion for him.
Twelve.
So there's the lede on the Page One Story.
Not sure, I think it was a download from Associated Press.
Also knows as Ass... nevermind.
I am grateful that my home church is very conservative and the church is bursting at the seams. They are so devout and we actually have home grown seminarians! It is a joy to attend Mass where JESUS is the name in which we pray! There is so much charity for the poor because JESUS IS THE FOCUS!
amen!
Wow. Yes, prayers for the priests.
I saw that those protestors even made it to FR. Maybe I should link this thread to them, huh?
LOL!
Priestock? “Stay away from the brown eucharist?”
He’s retiring in September! He is actually not a bad guy, he’s very pro-life, and I think he’s fundamentally orthodox and personally pious. But he is quite left-wing (he went up to sprinkle blood with the loony left nuns at the School of the Americas) and I think that has colored his thinking on a number of fronts. He also has a completely irrational hatred of the new translation.
Any time a church or even a diocese is conservative, it’s bursting at the seams and there are seminarians galore. I just got back from Madrid, which a few years ago had virtually no seminarians. A new bishop (Cardinal Archbishop, actually) came in and immediately devoted himself to encouraging traditional devotions, personal piety, pro-life activities, etc. and now...at the Corpus Christi procession last week, there must have been nearly 100 seminarians filing in. Amazing what a difference orthodoxy makes!
LOL!
That would be something if a Eucharistic miracle happened at this gathering!
**there must have been nearly 100 seminarians filing in. Amazing what a difference orthodoxy makes!**
Indeed! Orthodoxy makes a huge difference.

Funny — irreverent but funny.
No offense to the men of the cloth. I sure know that Father Ed (my senior year religion teacher) would have loved the joke.
The Mass schedule there must be most accommodating. :)
