The Evolutionist is "Shocked, Shocked to Find Religion in Here"
--snip--
Evolutionary thought is, and always has been profoundly religious. Of course that is nothing new--religious mandates have always been influential. What is remarkable is the denial of evolutionists about their own arguments and convictions...

The Evolutionist is “Shocked, Shocked to Find Religion in Here”
—
Yeah, the religion of the anti-God.... :-)
Separation of the Temple of Darwin and state! Cut off all funding now. Let their religion fend for itself in the free market of competing ideas. Of course, we all know the result if that happens!
You mean the “natural selection” god. The Temple of Darwin is nothing more than a quasi-animist nature religion that masquerades as science.
You’d think a Ph.D. would have access to spell check.
You must be running out of sources. What’s next, Marvel Comics?
What makes you say that? The author is a Ph.D. in Biophysics and Computational Biology. Oh, I get it, the article went over your head, so your first instinct was to try and cover up your insecurity by calling it “stoooopid.” Typical evo.
Don’t let em get you down, GGG. I look forward to your postings! Darwin is not spinning, but running headlong from the light of truth, in his grave, thanks to guys like you. Blessings, Bob
How does he rate in comparison to Brian Thomas MS*?
Brian Thomas is excellent. That’s why you are instinctively threatened by him.
Thanks a bunch!
Unless I’ve missed a lot, I’ve seen few other posters, if any, attract hundreds of responses as do some of the articles you post.
Evidently whether pro or con some tender spots are being touched.
Cheers!
But he’s not a Ph.D. Your post to me touted the current author’s credentials on the basis of his degrees. So is he better than Brian Thomas, MS*, who does NOT hold a Ph.D., or was your elevation of the current author’s status on that basis poorly thought out?
Very interesting. Thanks!
Hi. I’m new here.
I was born, raised and educated in the Catholic tradition. As such, I was taught evolutionary theory as accepted science that is quite independent of and not contradictory to the Catholic faith. As such, I find the talk of evolution as religion quite confusing. Religion is based upon faith. Science on the other hand is based upon empirical evidence. For 140 years or so, a wealth of empirical evidence has been generated to support the notion of universal common descent and, to my knowledge, there is no other theory of speciation that will stand up to scientific rigor. Now, I read the article linked to and I saw no evidence whatsoever that evolutionary theory is religion in any accepted definition of that word. I am not a fan of rabid anti-religionists like Dawkins and Dennet but I see no reason to deny the massive weight of evidence and deny evolutionary theory or to try to equate it with religious faith. If you are a person of faith, the answer seems clear. Just say that evolution is how God went about creation. Genesis isn’t to be taken literally. That’s what the Catholics do.

Welcome to Free Republic...
Now... I don’t mean anything personal here — but — “you just stepped in it” ... LOL...
No..., really... this is a hot topic. I sometimes think it could result in physical violence and bodily harm if the people were in close proximity to each other. It’s only the fact that we are each at our own keyboards that save us from physical fights at times... :-)
I’ll let someone else pick this one up... and I’ll sit back and watch... good luck...
Welcome to F.R.
Ahhhhh.... the bell curve of life.
In the middle are those who see science as man’s mind trying to understand the works of God.
At the extreme ends are the ‘pure’ evolutionists, and the ‘pure’ creationists.
Best bet is in the middle.
