Republican vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin wants creationism taught in science classes.
In a 2006 gubernatorial debate, the soon-to-be governor of Alaska said of evolution and creation education, "Teach both. You know, don't be afraid of education. Healthy debate is so important, and it's so valuable in our schools. I am a proponent of teaching both."

The medieval Christian church and some Christian denominations are infamous for not tolerating opposing points of view. Have you ever heard of the inquisition? That same censorious spirit exists today in so-called Christian churches.Theocracy alert!
I listened to Hawking. Will you explain, unlike Hawking did when he dismissed physics and science, how he could state that anything comes from nothing. Why, if there is not a First CAuse, why is there anything rather than nothing at all. Mr.Hawking saying something does not make it so. Hawking’s musings are nothing more than his imaginings...he says so himself. He is speaking of what he terms “imaginary time”. He just makes it up as he goes along.

False. It was much more like a family, and their numbers were small at that point. Of course, if the entire nation were all devout Christians, like the early apostles, the system would work; but since there are unrepentant sinners mixed in, it cannot work. That is why Paul wrote this:

The Feds should not dictate the teaching of Creationism, nor should they dictate it’s illegality.
State and local issues - education, that it - in my opinion - are state and local issues. I don’t EVER want the Feds telling ANY school or district what it HAS to teach, even if it’s my most devout subject issues.
THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH THE FEDS GETTING INVOLVED IN EDUCATION!!!!!!!!!!!! IT CREATES ALL NEW CULTURE WARS, OVER AND OVER AGAIN!

Romans 13 does not give the civil government authority over education of children. That authority rests with parents and the church alone.
Indirectly you are right for all the wrong reasons (I suspect that you are a flaming liberal). Christians should not be going to court to force teaching of creationism in public schools because a) their children should not attend the pagan academies also known as communist government schools in the first place and b) because they are pagan academies, they cannot be reformed, and c) they should be expending their efforts on trying to get state legislatures to exempt them from any school taxes and d) they should be trying to convince other Christians of the threat of government schooling to faith,family, freedom, liberty and the rule of law.
I’m glad that Palin has this view about education, but I’m actually a little more concerned that (according to the story) she wasn’t willing to say that she did NOT believe in evolution.
Leave it to a communist university professor to claim that Palin is a “creationist” simply because she doesn’t believe that creationism should be suppressed.
I note this thread is in the Religion forum where it belongs, so I shall tread lightly.
Which version of Creationism would be taught with the evolution curriculum for the students to engage in debate about?
